Just finished my tranny swap last night after my diferential granaded. ITs like driving another car. Those doing it should leave the shift levers on cause it drastically decreases throw. I will post pics tonight of the football sized hole in my old tranny.

As long as our stock cables will connect to them, there's no reason to swap them.

Would the same be true with '02 neon tranny's? Does anyone know if the '02's and '03's have the same levers?

EDIT: sorry didn't realize this post was kinda old

no you gotta switch one on the 02. i did anyway. the cable will hook to it fine, the only problem is the counterweight on the lever interferes with the drivers side motor mount bracket. You can either cut the weight off or switch out the levers.

We just cut my friends counterweight. No need to switch them.

ummm, my '02 trans doesn't have counterweights on the levers. Any ideas? Please don't tell me I got the wrong trans.
