56k keep on walking.

We managed to get all the pieces of metal out of the tranny from the new window and it all looks good otherwise, but I'd like to get some expert advice as to whether they see something I need to address before it goes back together.

Thanks.

Thanks to my brothers for their assistance in this one. Figured I'd post this out here so the BANME!s might get a peak at what can be done with a couple hours and a handful of sockets. emoji

Don't give up on your car! It's your baby and it's crying for help..Please turbo me!

That's crazy how those bolts just wedged themselves through those holes! Ouch.. At least you had some Corona to help with the pain.

Clean the trash magnet.
Give the diff a once-over, check the pin and play in the pinion shaft.
Clean in whole bellhousing.
Take off the rear bearing cover and check for trash in there. if its anywhere, it's gonna be in there, and those sealed bearings aren't cheap.
Clean the fluid transfer trough (black plastic rail)
Replace those axle seals. They've been superceded by a newer part number and the new seals are MUCH better quality. The new ones are $7/ea.

Thanks for all the advice. I will get all that done. As for the LSD, I left Bitch hands a VM last night to ship me one overnight and I'll pay for it over the next couple months. Haven't heard back yet. emoji Besides, I need axles more than I need LSD (although I know this is the time I would want to install one). emoji Poverty sucks.

No you need an LSD more than you need axles. Other than the obvious performance reasons here are a few more ...

1. You won't snap an axle driving around on the street. You can throw the diff pin anytime
2. When you snap an axle you'll be out the cost of a tow and $60+core for a new axle. When you throw your diff pin the damage to your trans case this time will look like a Sunday walk in the park. You'll be out the cost of a tow and a whole new trans.
3. You don't make enough power to snap an axle but you can throw a diff pin puttering around
4. What do you think helps your times more ... axles or an LSD (drag times or circuit times)?

I'd love to get an LSD and safing brackets. You guys just let me know where I can get a quality LSD in less than 24 hours without shipping out a core for a total cost of less than $50 and I'll be all over it.

I am going to have to save $200 a month in order to make it to the Shootout this year. There is no more mod money until after that. The car can not sit any longer. End of story. Sad, but true.
