#4131, "I think I broke something... all gears in wrong spot....."

Ok so today comming out of the highway, I had to give it a bit of juice to get in front of a vehicle comming at me, and I went for 2nd gear and to my surprise it was not there! I depress the pedal again and shift for 3rd and the gear is wayyyyyyyy in the wrong spot. Now my 1,3,5 gears are way up close to my cigarett lighter and 2,4,R are where neutral used to be and neutral is where the old postion of 1,3,5 used to be. I checked all the linkage under the hood and nothing 'looks' wrong, tonight I will tear apart the stuff in the car and see if something there broke. Has anyone else seen this?

It's just a linkage problem. Either you lost a clip on the cable mount bracket, or a bushing on the shifter side is gone. Not a hard fix.

Yea I read about 10 posts where people had 'similar' issues, and they had either a broken/loose cable or the shifter bushings took a crap out. I'm going to dig into it tonight after class.
