I am buying a rebuilt phoenix manual transmission and a Sachs clutch i was just wondering if anyone has ever done business with them and if their product is any good or not. I heard from some one that I should probably reseal the bell-housing anyone else have this problem and what should i reseal it with

I am paying about 1100.00 for the trans and i paid 220.00 for the clutch on ebay.

I would not open up the bellhousing. that would give the company room to refuse a warrenty if it failed. Watch for leaks in the first few months and if it leaks take it back.

sachs is a factory clutch

"Sachs" doesn't necessarily mean it's a factory OEM clutch. There are plently of high performance SACHS clutches out there. The term SACHS just refers to the style clutch it is ... either a SACHS or a LUK. I hope you got a performance clutch for 220, that's a lot of money for a OEM clutch.

That's enough for me! emoji I've been considering Phoenix Reman Trans for my beater 1G for a while now. They seem like they know what they're doing and test everything out before it ships. While I don't know anyone who's bought from them before, from what I've seen elsewhere, I would buy from them myself if I had to.

they sealed my bellhousing with rtv instead of anaerobic sealant. now it leaks. other than that, they're great.
