#3845, "Something leaking from a bolt hole???"

Strange leaking from the lower tranny bolt hole towards the inward part of the car( if you are looking straight at the tranny opening, its the lower left hole). The liquid is brownish. Is this the tranny fluid? Why would it be leaking from this bolt hole? (mind you, the bolt is removed and has been for some time.)

bobin' and weavin' in traffic. No other place i'd rather be emoji.

I have no idea which bolt you're talking about. Take a pic.

I am at work ATM, but I believe the bolt hole is associated to the engine-to-tranny support bracket where one side bolts behind of the oilpan and is bent to then bolt to the tranny. There is also one on the other side. So it is the bolt hole on the tranny for this support bracket.

AH, i see.

Nothing can leak from that hole - it doesn't go into the interior of the case. it's more likely something above it leaking, such as an axle seal or engine oil, and it is collecting on the bolt hole.
