What type of gasket sealer are you suppose to use for the manual nv-350 transmission? I just rebuild mine and I'm pretty sure I'm not suppose to use regular silicone gasket sealer.

It calls for anerobic. I usually just use grey silicone.

I use a sealant called Yamabond 4 from the local Yamaha dealer. I put it between the cases of the trans and everywhere else on the engine. There is not a drop of oil anywhere outside the engine or trans. I also put it on the oilpan, without a pan gasket, temporarily because no one had the gasket in stock and I was ready to crank my engine after the rebuild. But so far the engine has ran a month with no hints of a leak. I am going to see how long it lasts before I put a gasket on it.
The stuff works really well if you put it on but let it dry for a few mins before you put the parts together. That way it gets sort of a sticky texture that bonds to the metal.
