Guys, I have spent all my turbo money getting my transmission fixed for the past 3 weeks. I come to find out today that a leading cause of the death of my 5th gear synchro was that the rubber shifter bushings had crapped out on me. I could've saved myself and assload of money if I woudlve bought the Symborski kit last Christmas. This really sucks. The only good news is that I got a new stock clutch. The bad news is I dont get my car back until SATURDAY! I wont get to drive my car for over a month as I'll be gone all next week.

Summary: Replace the stock shifter bushings before your shit tears up! $30 > $1300!

EDIT: I'm taking all donations as well. I'm flat ass broke now. Anything from $0.01 to whatever is very much appreciated! My paypal is joseph23w@hotmail.com Thanks guys....

$1,300???? Are you kidding me? For a new 5th gear synchro?

I just spent $1,400 on my RACE built transmission from John Shepherd. (all new internals, upgraded diff, etc etc)

You really did get HOSED. emoji

Actually I think I killed the synchro somehow. Something is definitely screwed up. I'm sure the bill wont come out to be much over $1000 dollars or so including labor (hopefully...), but I was trying to convey a point.

I'll know for sure what happend when I talk to the guys this weekend.

for that kind of money you culd have shipped the trans to Dino and had him fix it...throw him some cash for his time and pay him to ship it back and still be less than 1000.

Maybe so. But as my dad has his name on the title, I take it to where he wants me to. Bad situation for now. Still no car BTW...

u are a smartass with good advice. im pullin mine in a couple weeks as well.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.
