#2552, "How to change tranny fluid?"

I need to change my tranny fluid A.S.A.P. I tried to search everywhere for a writeup but havn't had any luck. I need to know how to drain it and fill it up again. I think I know how to drain it, there is a screw in the middle underneath the tranny. But I looked everywhere to find a place to fill it and havn't had any luck. Any luck would be appreciated.

Thanks

There's a rubber plug behind the driver's side tire.
Pull that out.
Take out the drain plug/bolt below it at the bottom.
Let it all drain out.
Put the drain plug/bolt back in.
Fill up with the car level until it starts to pour out of the fill hole.
Put rubber plug back into the fill hole.
Done...

A tube might be useful when filling back up. The parts store will have one that screws onto the tranny fluid bottle.

Link doesn't work. I went to the parts store for the tube but they said that they didn't have anything like that. Any ideas where else I should go? Also what rubber thing are you talking about I removed the plastic fender well right behind the wheel but not the wheel. I didn't see anything, should I take the wheel off too? And I bought 2 quarts because I remember seeing somewhere that 2 quarts was just enough, is that true?

Thanks

Just in case you need some proof check out this link regarding info on our tranmissions. I recommend you hit up a Mitsu dealership and pickup a couple of quarts of Mopar NV-T350 fluid, I paid 11 bucks a quart at my local dealership.

That is the fluid I bought, but I bought it for 14.15 at the dodge dealer. Anyways I get all that but I don't know how to fill it back up, where is this rubber thing you all are talking about to fill it back up. That is my only problem.

If that doesn't lead the way then pick up a Chilton's manual. They have a few pics of where that stopper plug thing is located.

It will be under the battery tray, on the transmission, above the drivers side axle towards the back. Take off your wheel and inner fender liner and shine a light in there. It may be covered in grime, so feel around for something rubber. It just pops in and out, pressure fit.

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.
