#2360, "newbie tranny issue help please!"

Alright lately it has been tougher to shift in my 5spd 97 eclipse GS. On sunday i had to start from 3rd because i couldnt seem to shift into first when i started my car. After a while it seems to get easier and easier, however. Today i tried to start my car and when it was on I couldnt shift into ANY gear. When the car is off and the clutch is in its not trouble, but once the car is on my shifter seems stuck. anyone know what the problem is here?

I would solve in this order.
If one doesn't work, then move to the next.

1. Check clutch fluid level to see if slave or master cylinder is leaking.

2. Change transmission fluid.
(It's a good idea to have some fresh stuff in there)

3. Have a look at the synchros.

Good luck !

I had the same problem in my car after I put some Havoline tranny fluid in it, switched to OEM fluid and it's been good.
