#2283, "any issues with having TOO much tranny fluid in the M/T?"

i coouldn't remember if it was 2.4 or 4.2 so i looked in the manual and it said 4.2, so i put in 3 (all i had at that time) and pulled the hose from the tranny and watched 6-8 bucks worth of oil poor to the ground! emoji I est. about 1/4-1/3 a bottle. so i have prob. about 2.4-2.6 in there now. any harm or do i need to drain some off?

i searched after the fact and found the posts that say 2 is all taht is needed...

input!??

In the wise words of Master Dino "2 quarts. 2 quarts. 2 quarts. 2 quarts. Just for the search. TWO QUARTS"

I suppose you can probably drain the oil thats already in there and remeasure it as you put it back in the tranny.

The exact spec is 2.1 qt. That's bone dry, assume you drained every last drop.

If you filled with the car straiht and level... you did fill with the car staright and level... right? You can over fill unless you stuff the drain plug in quickly. The bottom of the fill hole is the proper level of the fluid. So go out stuff a pan under the trans and wedge you arm in there and pull the fill plug with the car level it will drain until the correct amount is left in the trans.
