#2180, "how can i tell if my tranny/clutch is bad or not??? please help"

me and greg got my tranny out today after dozens of complications and grief... now how do i tell what is wrong??? her is what the problem is (the short version) hard shifted to 3, wham nothing there...

i can sit at idle, put it into any gear(including reverse) let out the clutch and nothing, also with the motoro running i can put it into any gear with out pressing the clutch.

the shift linkages are good, the slave cylender did press the forks of the clutch in... i don't know what it could be???

so how can i tell if my clutch is bad or my tranny is bad or both?

thanks

Having trouble shifting into 3rd while driving means that your syncronizers for 3rd gear are dying. I recommend you take your tranny to get it replaced, unless you know what you are doing and want to save some money.

i know that there is one of three possibilities:
1. the clutch is shot
2. the tranny is shot
3. the clutch and the tranny are both shot...

what are sure fire ways to tell if these things are good or "shot"

i just put my spec stage 3 in 2 years ago...

tranny has 131k miles on in...
