i've had a pretty good experience with spec, but if u wanna kill some $$ go with clutch masteres (almost the same things...) get a diff while your in there too...

i had a stage 3 spec for 2 years now, grabs great... unfortionatly i may have just blown it last week not realy sure whats wrong with it... i'm taking it apart now to see whats up... later

yes lots of chatter, so they say that it is normal... also the peddle is light kinda scarey at first but u get used to it, they also say that is normal... realy hard to slip the clutch for a slow start it likes to grab...

if my clutch is bad (i don't think it's the clutch most likely the tranny) then i'm gonna go with the pt clutch for now then another spec later.

****WARNING**** WHEN U DO CHANGE UR CLUTCH MAKE SURE TO USE THE SPECIAL TRANNY FLUID FROM MITSUBISHI, IT'S EXPENSIVE BUT WELL WORTH THE LIFE OF YOUR TRANNY!!!!!!!!!!!!! ********END WARNING********

Did the chatter ever go away. Have you heard of any other performance clutches that dont have chatter?

no the chatter is something u have to get used to kinda like the vibrations form motor mount inserts...

i don't know about any other clutches realy, but the chatter isn't that bad... the worst i've ever heard it is like when your at a drive though window and go to pull forward you hear it echo real bad off of the wall... it's only when u start to pull foward though...

i'm sure the pt cruiser clutch don't do that but it's not near as strong as aftermarket, pm a few of the guys who have other kinds of clutches and see what they say... just look though the theads and check their mods or what ever...

good luck

btw... i'll let u know on wed if my spec stage 3 clutch went out in 2 years or if it was my tranny... if it is the clutch i won't be buying spec again...

later

The CM clutch grabs good. THe only problem is that liek he said, you can't slip it. It is more like dumping it. I look like I just started to learn how to use a manual tranny.
