it's a lot of work to put essentially stock 2gnt guts in a stock 2gnt case.. why don't you just get a stock trans?

I heard the tranny just bolts up since we have the same block and just different heads. its the same exact ratio's unless i wanted some better high way cruising then i would just get the SOHC tranny which has a Final gear ratio of 3.55.

Well thier so much cheaper then avenger/ecplise tranny's and thier so many in the junkyards.

If im worng please let me know so i dont end up buying the wrong tranny.

a 95-99 Neon trans will bolt up, but it will not work. 95-99 Neons use a cable clutch actuation system, and ours is hydralic. If you use a neon gearset, you have to bolt a 2gnt clutch housing on it.The 2001+ transaxles should bolt up and work fine, but good luck finding one cheaper than a 95-99 Eclipse/Talon/Avenger/Sebring gearset.

You can't do that. I don't believe the diff pin is exposed (I'd look on my quaife but it's 5k miles from me right now). Also, even if it was the quaife unit comes with a lifetime almost unconditional warranty. If you go welding on it you'll void it.

Anyway quaife is good. Don't need to weld anything. You couldn't break it if you tried your best.
