#2033, "I am Screwed!! Need HELP!"

Well, I replaced my slave cyl today and it is my clutch. I wasted 100 bucks on it. Now, I have no clue when it comes to clutches. I need a new one, but I am not going back to stock. I do drive hard when it is running and I dont want this problem again until i decide to get rid of the car. What kind of clutch is a stock clutch, Modular or non-modular??? WTF is the different styles of clutches? What kind would I need? Do I have to get a new flywheel as well????? Where to buy one???? How much will it run???? Please help me out guys I really need it. I am about to just take the car and run it off a cliff, but I cant get it in gear so that aint gonna happen. Please help!!!!

TJ

You need a modular clutch. a NA, bolted car is fine on a stock clutch. You do not need a flywheel, it is part of a modular clutch.

You need to drop the trans. There is a fairly good write-up in this section on how to do this. You can have it done in a weekend.

thanks dino, the only reason why i posted in both was because no one ever checks the Manual Tranny section. Thanks for your reply. You are truely DA MAN! My next question is, should I go with the LUK clutch or the Centerforce Dual Friction. TIA

I ran 9psi on a stock bottom end for almost a year on a stock replacement Luk (or Sachs, one) clutch. I killed a CFDF in 5000 miles on 10psi with a built motor. You decide.

PT cruiser clutch is a nice option as well, more holding power for just over stock price.
