#2005, "Tranny grinds with more than 1/4 throttle"

I dont know what it is...i notice that my shifter is really really free moving all the time. In 1st and 2nd i hear my tranny grind if i give it any more than 1/4 throttle. I have to accell from stops very slowly. Anyone have any ideas? Didnt do anything but replace the clutch bearing cuz the lil prong broke off the fork.

How old is the clutch? stock? Sounds like you need a new one and that grinding sound is just the clutch slipping under too much torque.

The clutch is stock, and might I add (for the few that dont know from me complaining every other post of mine) that I have an oil leak right between my tranny and block, I read in a post that this oil could cause the clutch to do something...slip I guess. but slipping doesnt grind.

sounds like a bad bearing or seal in the trans, not goo emoji

were EXACTLY is the oil coming from?

1st mechanic said it was the rear main seal, where I and everyone else suspected before even seeing for ourselves, he replaced it but it still leaked. The one he replaced only had 30< miles on it cuz i just rebuilt engine. Then 2nd mechanic said that it was between bedplate and block, and he sealed it up with some more anaerobic sealant, didnt leak that night but did next morning. So...i dont know, plus I got 80w-90 in the tranny right now, I kno im suppse to use the Mopar stuff, but I know imma be droppin the tranny again soon to look at it myself and push that diamn seal in, cuz i really think thats it.

mine is doing the same thing , leaking oil around the bell housing and tranny , my guess was the main seal , it leaks onto my exhaust and when i park it it smokes like crazy!! my tranny also grinds like that when going from 1st to 2nd , let me know if you find a cure for this
