#1555, "Lost 1st 2nd and 3rd"

I'll be the first to admit I dont know SHIT about trannies.

1st gear is an absolute bitch, wont go in. I have to put in reverse then try it again.

2nd isnt nearly as tough but doesnt want to gate from time to time.

3rd is a pain but will go in most of the time.

What gives? The linkage? How do I check?

Check the clutch hydralics first. Pull back the boots on the master and slace and see if there is fluid leaking into them.

Does it shift fine with the engine off?

Then there might be something wrong internally... have you tried more than once? Sometimes thing s just don't line up right, but 90% of the time it should just slide right in.

Yeah. I'd check the linkage and the hydralics before doing anything else.

mine does something similar. I think its cuz i have bad slave and master cyls tho. remember, you gotta slow down to a set speed before it will go into first....right????

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

Well, I didn't have any real time to look at her but when I was putting the stock stero in I noticed that Ultimate electronics didnt hook up the antenna adapter. Well the cable was uber jammed in the linkage down there. I got it out after a bit. She shifts into all the gears now but 1st is still weird. I can hear it gate fine but the shifter doesnt go cleanly straight up. It kinda angles up to the right a little bit and it just doesnt feel right.
