#484, "Clutch noise while pedal is pushed down" Apr-20-03 04:18 PM by 420aVenger
I've heard of people having a noise in the tranny that goes away when you push the clutch in. Well mine has a noise when I push the clutch in. It's a real faint noise. I can't really describe it but it's in rythm kinda with the clutch spinning. Any ideas what can go bad that would make a sound with the clutch in? If it makes any difference I have a SPEC stage 3 clutch and new TO bearing. The pedal engagement is way higher than it was stock and the pedal is super soft. Way softer than even the brakes. Maybe it's not disengaging all the way and rubbing???

Hey I also have the SPEC stage 3. And it a funny clutch. I've had since June, a chatter, that just went away this past Friday, just wierd. But now it screeches when I let it out fast. The pedal is way soft. Took me more than the break in period to get used to. But with all the noise and soft feel the clutch grips. And grips hard. No slip, ever. I too thought something was wrong for along time, but 10 months later, the clutch gets the job done. Hope that helps. Later BTW - Some other members run the SPEC also..
