does going from Neutral at a cpl G's at a roll then dropping into drive hurt the trans bad? I haven't done it but was jw on ways to launch an AT a lil.

If you were a transmission, would you like someone doing that to you? I know I wouldn't. I'm not saying it will blow up the day after, but it won't be good for it. Personally, I think the best thing for that trans is to swap it for the MT. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Don't ever do that..........that is gay. If you want to launch hard go with beefier tranny mods....high stall converter, phantom grip ect ect. Also go with a line lock kit till your converter builds its power then well push the button, going from n to l1 or d not under a load already will always break shit with the quickness.

ok ok srry i didnt mean to flame on ya at all bud lol.
for best launching results:

get yourself a high stall tourqe converter (around 3500 rpm)
mash the brake and gas together (hold no more that 10 secs)
release the brake and your in your seat emoji

i,v been neutral dropping my trans for the last 3 years every couple of weeks or so and my trans is still good . i know its not good to do but you can do it every once in the while without any problems . neutral dropping is not good for launching tho cause you loose traction . your best bet for launching is definitly a high stall torque converter .

LED tails : Done for now!

Take a 2X4 and stick it in your yard just about 4 or 5 inches below your waist. Now backup and run into it. What will happen is that you will bash your nuts into. Of course this will hurt every time but how many times will it take to really injury yourself who knows. Neutral dropping is the same sort of thing everytime you do this to your trans your risking damage. Main point dont do it. emoji

um yeah that's bad... your tranny might last for a few tries but eventually you'll ruin the seals inside and you won't be able to go anywhere.

I've proven on the track and posted timeslips that doing anything besides just pressing down on the gas pedal will not make you go any faster in an ATX 2GNT without transmission mods.

A high stall TQ convertor will help, but for the cost and labor involved, you might as well do a 5-spd swap.
