whenever i go to switch gears, like put it in drive for the first time in the morning, or other times in the day, rpms will surge up, they r not supposed to do this, but why is it doing it, any ideas?

mine does that...
if its shifting fine once its warmed up its not a problem

ya... this is common bud
mine did that after putting a few miles on the tps.
just swapped it and now its back to "like new"

Our trannys take info from the tps to tell it how to shift.
