In the autos u have to take everything out...then u get to the diff.

try finding a used one (near impossible) or just get another tranny.

I still don't believe that you need a new diff (see other thread). If you truly can't get everything apart, I will have a 1995 auto trans for sale in about a month. Only 84k on it and it has Stratus gears and shift kit.

yeah i saw your other thread corbin. I kinda went nuts postin...oops. but like i said in the other post, i'm only believing half of the story, cuz its just bull. i want to just vent and get pissed, cuz i think its the only way to get things done now. plus i wanted to make it to shootout this year and this is really hindering that.

if the 4cyl A604 is anything like a V6 A604 you need to use a transmission with a corresponding year. 1995's have a single plug. 1996+ have 2 plugs.

We've installed 4 yes 4 1996 A604's in a 1995 Avenger and it keeps either exploding or burning up clutchpacks, or killing overdrive. What its basically doing is getting confused because of the wrong connections, and freaking out, not regulating each shiftpoint accurately.

Sean, if youre going to get a new Trans, save the hassle and get a 1995 A604. And BTW, you're taking your car to Mitsu, thats your problem. Have it towed home, and do it yourself. Or have one of the Matts help you.
