Only thing inside there is the torque converter and the pump assembly is around there. Ill look at the scematic and try to figure out what would click.

edit: ok so there's tons of shit inside there. Looks like an input shaft into the tranny, and if i remember correctly from seeing my old torque converter its got gear teeth inside of it. I imagine if there were teeth missing you'd have more than ticking. There's also a "TC" clutch, maybe its messing up. Ummmmmm, if you have AOL or AIM IM me and ill send you a pic of the trans with everything inside of it.

Drive it for a little bit then check your fuild level... top it off... repeat this for a couple day straight... after a full week or two of driving, the ticking should go away. The torque converter will do this when it's not absolutely 100% FULL of fluid. It takes a while to work out all the air in the converter. Just as long as you check it and top it off for the first week of driving, you'll be fine. I wouldn't worry about damage at this point.

I agree, air trapped in the TC, making the vanes tick together.

This happened to me when my TC fell off, and I put it back on real quick. Went away after a week.

If it doesn't stop within a couple of weeks, you could check your tranny dipstick for metal powder. If you're really paranoid, drop your pan again and look for unusual amounts of metal.
