How do you think we do the shift kit bro . The pan is easy to remove. A bunch of 10mm bolts holding it in place. Release the bolts take a small pry bar and a rubber mallet and beat the bastard off. Make sure you have a large container below because tons of fluid is going to pour out. However I would recommend for the trans temp sensor that you just get a remote filter which is a good idea anyways and connect the sending unit to the port on the filter mount.

Pan is removeable. I take it off when I change fluid, filter, and pan gasket. Ours is a pain to get to imo, but it's nothing horrible. I wouldn't just settle for flushing the tranny for fluid change. Drop the pan and see what you've got in there.(hopefully nothing, or just the filler plug from the factory if it's ur 1st change.)

speaking of lining up, remember all those tranmission issues I was having? well come to find out it was because of massive leaks from the tranny pan because the fucktards who fixed something in there reused the gasket and fucked it all up. I dropped the pan last night put some rvt sealant on there and I'm testing the bitch out tonight and I pray everything goes well. The real gasket is coming in tommorow though so I get to do it all over again .
