Respond here if you will be attending the Shootout '03. If there are enough members who will actually be there this year, we may be able to hold a first ever national 2gnt meet. That would, of course, depend on the participation of all of you. Also tell everyone where you will be staying and how to identify you. Maybe we could do something to the cars to tell others that it is a Team 2GNT car. Any ideas?

Already booked at the Best Western myself.

I'll be there along with "Ryan_RS", "Jarrad_GST", and possibly quite a few other 1g AWD guys. Since Ryan and I will be bringing our cars, that will be quite identifiable. But I can also give you my cell phone number, Jeff. Others may want to do the same or something like that.

Addendum: Collente, the Shootout is the weekend of July 20th. The actual Shootout is on the 20th, but the entire weekend is typically just called the Shootout since, from what I understand, everyone just shows up and kicks it together.

Norwalk, Ohio is very small. All the hotels on "the strip" (the strip being the only road in the whole town) are very close together. So they are all about 3 minutes from the track.

The best part about the shootout is being around hundreds of DSMers for an entire weekend and just basically screwing around in the parking lots. Drink beer, talk shit, and help people work on their cars (if you feel so inclined).

The Friday of that weekend is the Import Nationals, so you can go to watch that as well.

I think I am going to try to make it this year. It is quite a long haul from Plattsburgh NY, but I'm willing to drive it this year. The only thing that could hold me back would be my car.....because I refuse to go without it. I just hope that when I get her put back together, I can get all my bugs worked out(putting in my 440 injectors). My worst nightmare would be getting all the way to the shootout and then breaking an axle or something running it at the track there....boy would that suck!

I will be there I have no clue where I am going to stay yet I know alot of local ohio DSMers so may just crash with somebody........ My car probably will still be primer so not hard to miss lol. Jen do you know if there are people going from the MO AR area I have not realy asked around yet but figure a few people will be going dunno though. Also I was there last year for just the sport comapct nationals and it was fun ass hell probably 3/4 of the people there where die hard DSMers but there was some fast honda's and stuff like that too. Summit racing comes out big for that show also because it is local to there wharehouse in talmadge (SP?).

Hey Strauss,

I don't know exactly where Plattsburgh is, but I will be in Rochester this summer. (well, I am here now too emoji) Drive here Thursday, July 17th, crash at my apartment that night, then we head out Friday morning with the Rochester DSM group. They are all die-hard DSMers and its a LOT of fun.

Also, if you break an axle, there is an Advanced Auto, Napa, Pep Boys, AND Autozone all within walking distance of the hotels. Now what reason don't you have to go? emoji

I'll def be there also. Got my room at the BW too, so that place should be 2gnt central! I got an idea of how we can all identify each other too. I think i will do this.. Get some window marker paint (you know, like what car dealers use to write on windows), and put on your back window "www.2gnt.com" and under that put your name of what you call yourself on the board. That way, we will all know who is from 2gnt and their car's. May get some attention on the road trip there too emoji

I should be there. My dad will probably take his silver gsx (in the sig)...I don't trust my 1990 for the trip. Haven't booked a hotel yet. I like the hotel we stayed at last year but I don't remember which one it was. But anyways I'm hoping to be there.

I appreciate the offer, but I will be bringing a few DSM'ers from up here with me. So far, my girlfriend will be coming with me(soon to be engaged emoji ) in my car, and my friend is going to follow with his 95 TSI AWD, and he will have someone with him. Plattsburgh is roughly 5 hours northeast of Rochester, it takes me 4 hours to get to Oswego, so I figure Rochester must be about another hour. Maybe we could leave Plattsburgh REAL early and just meet up with you guys Friday morning and caravan down.....I'll get up whenever I have to for the shootout emoji Off topic here, but maybe in the mean time we could meet up someday before the shootout. Maybe we could meet eachother halfway by meeting in Albany or something....thats a little over a 2hour drive for me.......let me know!

Albany is 4 hours for me emoji Though I pass by there when I visit my girlfriend in Connecticut, so we might be able to meet up.

As far as the shootout goes though, you and your friends can crash at my apartment that night...it isn't a problem. I will have couches and the floor and stuff. Just an idea. Gives you a break. Norwalk is a good 6 hours from Rochester too... Definitely come for the caravan with the Rochester crew though. They are some of the best caravaners I've ever driven with. It's hilarious seeing a little white 92 talon getting in front of a line of 18 wheelers in the fast lane and hitting the brakes so the line of 20 DSMs can get by emoji

Buschur's dyno is 2WD only.

I am only staying Friday night and Saturday night. It is scary how fast Norwalk empties Sunday afternoon. That would most likely explain the $180. My roommate reserved the room, so I would have to ask him for specifics.

Unless the new job that I will hopefully be getting soon does not allow me to request vacation that soon, I will be there too. Unfortunately, I won't be taking my car. I'm hitchin a ride with a couple of friends. We're driving over from Colorado in a Trailblazer and will be towing what will hopefully be one of the fastest DSM's at the shootout!!

Hey guys I'm in baltimore till supposedly the 16 of june. I will try to make it to this thing. I have a feeling I will try to blow up the car. Maybe somewhere near a 150 shot of gas/whith the slicks. Which most likely means I will need a trailer. And I'm sure I will have Dino, and all the houston homies in the pits. Maybe I should try to bring some fuel rails?solid motor mounts? maybe even manifolds? But anyways I will try to find a truck and a trailer by then but let me warn you not to come and visit the houston guys unless you want to booz it up/smoke alot and most of all car talk. Ps Dino if you read this I need the 440's, any day you want to go pick up the 1:1 magnaflow let me know. I will tell the shop to put it on my bill. Call me if you need anything late mike

No, no, no rules at all, just show up and have fun. I do suggest finding yourself some reservations before it gets tough to find.

It's an event sponcered by one of the vendors for mainly 4G63 (factory turbo) cars. He holds the event at a drag strip not far from his shop, anybody can come. If you own an Eclipse, Talon, Laser, 3000GT, Stealth, there are events to race in. He takes anything powered by 4G63 too.

hey guys. i'm new to this whole thing but i've been reading the forums for a while. i can't wait for the shootout. i live here in norwalk,oh and this town is full of hondas and it makes me sick. can't wait till all you guys come and show them what it's all about. i'll be here on the friday of that weekend so i'll probably see some of you guys around. i wish i could stay saturday and sunday for the races but my family is going on vacation so i wish all you guys good luck and hope to talk to some of you that friday when you come up. let me know how's coming friday night. maybe we could hang out a little bit. i have a lot to learn so it would help me out a lot. thanks.

I am kinda new here but me (I got a 95 ESi with Hahn Turbo Stage I) and a buddy of mine (he has a 90 TSi AWD) are goin we will probably camp though it is the cheapest way I could think of.

I'll be there w/ the wife and mabey my baby. we'll be staying at home cause I live 20min away in Sandusky. The shootout is only sunday friday is test and tune and sat. is the Summit Sport Compact Nationals. I'll be there racing either the Eclipse or Civic depends cause the Eclipse is being in the car show.

what time is the meet? Can someone make some maps on the routes we are taking for the Caravans?

Whodatt will be coming from Wisc and meeting up with SilverNT and I. We plan on heading south to Springfield and joining those guys.

There are so many people coming from so many places, you'll have to get in contact with any DSM owners in your area who are heading to the shootout and see which routes they are travelling.

I'll be there. I live about an hour away, so I'll probabaly just drive up there saturday, back, and then back up on sunday. Unless somebody wants to let me stay with them. lol. Is anyone coming from the east planning on rolling in on Rt. 303? Thats the way I'll be going. Nothin but straight, flat, country roads. Didn't see one cop until we got real close to Norwalk last year.

Yo matt! We got a room at BW, and you can stay there if ya like! Haha, not too sure about the sleeping arangements though :o Matt_95tgs and his bro, and me are all in that room for now..We got both friday and saturday nights there..
