I am getting the amount of interest in 20% udps for the 420a (total shipped under $100 most likely closer to $75 depending on machining costs). These would be professionally CNC machined at a large shop from 6061 aluminum plate. Before I take the stock and drawings to the shop, I need to have at least 20 people interested in one. Also, I will donate $2 from everyone that buys one here to support the site.

For those of you who do not know, Nick is a stand up guy - OG.

He has the resources to make this happen.

Right now NO ONE makes a UDP for the 420A application. UR has two left in stock and they want 924.00 PER.
CODE4 did confirm with UR that this was the correct price.

Tim, I think its safe to say thats not a typo. They are fucking rare now days, when I heard Nick already has one on his L/B, I freaked! Can't believe they are so damn expensive now. I seriously have been looking for a NEW one for 1 1/2 years, they must be platinum, heh.

But yeah Nick, I would definitely be interested in a few, just to have around, so next time price jacks to 900$, I have a few on hand already.

I'd be interested but only if I can get one that is straight up alternator. Don't need the extra weight for the PS/AC belt.

The design hasn't been finished yet, so I will go with what the majority want. If people want to have the PS/AC belt on it, that's what I'll go with. If it's alt only that the majority want, I'll do that. The shop will only let me do one design for the run.

I think the reason why you can't find them anymore is because the platform is rather old thus making it a difficult to non-existent profitable venture. On top of that, taking specific requests for PS/AC, just PS, etc. will make it harder to market to the general 'tuner'.

Bottom line is cost of production, selling, shipping and materials, (basically your total cost) and since this is an 'interference fit' part, tolerances will need to be precise - thus trial/error/testing of the prototype before giving the shop the green light for mass production. Since you're designing them yourself, thats a good bit of cost reduction. Get a few quotes from several shops within a 50 mile radius and negotiate your lowest price from there. ok i'll stop talking now lol

If its the design like customcargrills, put me down for PS/AC. Hell, for something like this made of 6061, u could probably do national price quotes because shipping wouldn't be that much of the finished product based on size, quantity and weight. There are some cheappp quoters out there in rural areas that would love the business and do quality work - usually family owned businesses. Just a thought.

alright, I think I've got enough people that I will pick up the stock once my long block is sold on Monday (right Jeff?) My engineer took some very detailed measurements of the pulley on the block yesterday, and will get me initial designs this week. I will post as progress is made.

Original deadline for the design to be finished was October 1. It looks as though it will be passed up. I'm hoping we can have it finished mid October now. I hope to have the UDPs ready for ship end of October to mid November.

Hey guys, just wanted to update you on the progress of getting this run done. The person I asked to draw up the design is taking his sweet fucking time with it. I've been bugging him on a regular basis about it, but still nothing fruitful has come of it. If by the end of the week, the design/CNC program is not done, I'll get my UDP back from him and take it to my brother in-law (degree in mechanical engineering) to get it done. Sorry for all the hold up. Seems like nothing ever goes according to plan with these things. Just know I didn't forget about you.

Im hearing a lot of talk about them not making these anymore. But there is a car that uses the same one that will still be in the area of people modding them for the next few years at least. The SRT-4. Go on ebay and search SRT-4 underdrive pulley. Some are obx, some are name brand. Either way, I got mine with the removable steel insert for about $100 and the only time it EVER shredded a belt is when I failed to noticed oil on the pulley and the tensioner getting looser. So one PS belt in a year? Sounds good to me.

I never said they do not have ribs, I am saying the Neon Pulley has one less rib, unless you can post up a pic. If you look closely at the eBay pictures (the adds that show the different angles) you can see the belt width is the same for the alternator and the PS/AC.

Ah I fail at reading. But as far as I know mine has 2GNT belt grooves. I will venture into the depths of my garage later to get a pic of it on my car. You may prove me wrong but its worked all this time fine with no modification.

Hey guys, I'm very sorry for the delay. I had a come to jesus with my engineer yesterday and let him know that I either need the drawings this week or the part back so that I can have someone else draw up CNC plans for it. I was promised that the drawings would be in my hands by this Saturday at the latest. I still have every intention of making this run so please be patient. Besides, it's not like anyone's spent money on these yet. Well, except me.

And yes it is a 5 rib for the 2gnt. Myth confirmed. Actually that's what the major hold up has been, inputting the rib dimensions into the drawings.

If you don't get it back, my offer still stands. I'd draw it and machine it if your happy with my price.

Sorry guys. I keep getting dicked around by the guy who has my UDP. It appears he's making a liar out of me. I'm thinking for the time being I'm going to scrap this endeavor until I can get the part back or the drawings. I apologize for getting everyone's hopes up.
