!!! Damn. I almost wish this wasn't going on. I was planning on going turbo by next summer when I could afford it, but $850 for the fmic is damn tempting. I'm trying to owe less money, not more and this makes it damn hard. Decisions, decisions.

BTW, anyone want to lend me $2600?

You know how long this group buy is going to go on for? I'd really love to get in on this but money is really tight right now, so the longer it will go on for the better chance I'll be able to get in on it. That or if they want to do another one in like 8-10 months.

I have never worked on a car. My intake and catback were put on by my dad's friend. But I have no tools and I don't want to break my car or anything. I'm 17 too though. What should I expect to pay at a shop? I know it'll be too much.

OK,

I am down with the group buy. However, I would like to clear up some info. I would just like confirmation on stuff:

1) Stage 2 turbo kit w/ FMIC is $2600

2) Do we have the 10 people yet including me?

3) What is this guy's info? This is what I have so far:

Jimmy ****I need a last name****
(510) 632-4266
Pro 1 Motorsports
*****Address of Pro 1 Motorsports******

4) When does this end so I can send payment before then?

5) my emails is : bigpoppapump1173@ghotmail.com so anyone else out there in this buy let me know if you sent the money yet, what the FINAL price is, will it be sent to our house direct, etc. Any info appreciated I just need the missing info above for my records before I give anyone $2600. But you can definatly count me in!

MODS:

HRC 16g turbo kit, Spearco custom FMIC, Custom IC piping, VT rebuilt engine: Custom 8.8:1 compression CP pistons, Eagle connecting rods, Melling oil pump, Clevite bearings, 370cc injectors, Vortech S-FMU, Apexi N-1 catback exhaust, AFX UDP, Autometer boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge, EGT gauge, Corbin's digital A/F gauge, Tokico Blue shocks, Tein springs (1.5" drop), 18" Konig Verdicts rims, VIS stock-style Carbon fiber hood

The day I called him -- August 19 -- Jimmy said we have 4 confirmed (included me).
If "chaye" and "rutigile" are in, I think we have at least 6 right now.

I called Jimmy today. I'm probably going for the smic. I have to correct my financial situation first but Jimmy said he's got time so the order isn't going on ASAP. I also heard we can pay UPS COD. That's probably what I will do. However, don't ship until next week if I get the 100% go ahead to do it as I won't be in college to receive it yet. I'll keep Jimmy and the forum posted I guess.

My UPS info will be:

100 St. Thomas Road
Chestnut Hill, MA 02467

hey guys. just called at 1:00pm today and jimmy says I'm #7 so lets get at least 3 more so we can get our kits! can't wait. by the way.... he takes your name and number and then later when 10 people confirm, he'll call back for your payment info. so don't worry about having your credit card ready yet.

Uhh... I think paying the shipping would be 10 times more convinient than driving there. Plus the gas money would add up a lot too. Probably as much if you were to get it shipped.

Well I called him today and we now have 8 . I only talked to im for about 35 seconds I was at lunch break at work and was about to go clock in but I didn't get to ask about the money problem. I hope he'll take a money order or a cashiers check. I 'm guess i'm going to get the side intercooler instead of the front cause some people say it gives you more boost , I guess it'll cut back on turbo lag. Any way has anyone e-mailed him I'm thinking about e-mailing him with all the information that he'll need.

Can someone verify this??? Is this true. If a SMIC gives you more boost and less lag then whats the advantage to an FMIC??

i believe he is right... the reason why people get the fmic is because it cools the turbo alot more then a smic and also cause fmic looks alot cooler... but i dont care i ask for the smic i dont have the money.. i think it is a waste to get a fmic unless u really like the look or you are going to put more than 425hp to your engine...lol

ithink that your are right..but i know that optimuspeterson has the stage two with the smic and he asked a while ago about the fmic..
im going to get the side mount just because those 300 could go towards the bottom end and the EGT gauge and AF gauge and oil pressure and temperature gauge..cause i have set my limit and 3000 for my car..besides if you have the side mount noone will know you have turbo and if you have the fmic everyone who knows bout cars will know..so up to you
were we not at nine people.who chickened out.damn it that sucks..

OK... one more question. I have an auto right now so I need the least lag possible. What is the difference in spoolup (RPM)?? Also, I think later on I may do a tranny conversion. In that case if I have a 5 speed, what would be the difference in spoolup w/ the FMIC/SMIC? What do you guys recommend. I think the highest I would go is a stage 3 (in a few years). Thanks.

dude i dont think that fmic and smic have anything to do with the turbo spoolin up it always spools up around 3000rpm i believe. the difference between the fmic and smic it that u lose a certain amount of boost or psi for example you have 5psi with the fmic it might be 4.3psi as for the powerlose of an automatic i think u just take away about 10-15hp

it won't increase your spool time. it will just cause a pressure drop which in the end will mean smaller amount of psi to the engine.

the reason i want a fmic is becuase i hope to be putting 425 horses to the engine next summer. Once the injectors come i should be at around 300 at the wheels after some tuning. Remember that i have a stage 2.5 all i need is the injectors to bump me the other .5 up

I just learned that my insurance agent goes to my church if I got the FMIC he would know I have a turbo and jack the insurance up on me plus I kinda like the idea of surprising people example a regular z24 pulls up a light thinking oh no problem and then you stomp his a$$ he'll be like what???????? I've got an automatic tranny also but I'm going to put every kinda performance on my tranny as possible maybe the final drive mod don't know yet what about a light weight flywheel and a highperformance clutch or is that just for manuals.

Well if by chance this falls through Shaun is doing a NER kit group buy, the more people in the bigger the discount. I'm probably going to go in on that cause of the layaway. Just a heads up.

That's cool, About how much money difference is it if we're short?
and what do you think about the twinturbo setup?? When I first got my car thats what I wanted to do but I see now that it probibly would work right and run like a supra or an rx-7. But I just want the advantage of just having a good turbokit thats why I chose hahns plus I hear its a good kit.

Well I know this sounds stupid and i doubt anyone would be down for it, but if each of the nine people chipped in about $300 which is much less than HALF of the discount on this kit, I would be able to afford a kit and be the 10th person. I mean right now, it's looking like your not going to make it at all. Just an idea, I could probably be about to put up a bit of it, I think i could maybe manage around $400-500, but I can't get $2600 in time. Just something to think about .

Ok, I just did a little bit of math, and if I put up $500 towards the kit, that would mean each person would only have to chip in about $233.33. I know that is a bit of money, but considering the original discount is about $850 off the normal price your still saving about $615. I'm guessing this guy isn't going to be doing this that much longer so I'm just trying to help out, even though it sounds a bit greedy. I would for sure be going in on this if I had all the money, but even $500 is more than I should spend, but this would still be an awsome deal this way.

Yes I have a job, but it's part time cause I'm still in school. I'll call up and ask about a layaway, but I don't think there is anyway I would be able to pay it off in a month. Is the shop open tomarrow? I'll see if the guy is up for it, but I wouldn't count on it.

Well my main problem isn't getting the money, it's that getting the money would put me further into debt. I could stick the whole thing on my credit card, but I already owe a couple grand on it. And I am definatly not getting a loan from the bank for this. Would people be willing to chip in at all to help out? A $100 even maybe? I mean if I could get some help at all with it I might be willing to, but a full $2600 would be a bit much.

You could go with the SMIC which is 300 dollars cheaper and then later on upgrade to a FMIC. I have to save all my money even though I have 2,942.42 in the bank and I get aleast 300 dollars a week maybe 355 for over time I steal have to take a little out for my gas and my lunches I have to buy every day. I'm also going to save for some strut bars for the front/and rear I need to try to stiffen my suspension, also going to try to save up for some sparco leather racing seats if not I'll just get the two toned color black/grey, and want the harness also. I'm also looking for some kind of seats that I could put in the back. I will also eventually be saving up for other engine/transmission mods. I want to atleast get close to 300hp at the wheels but I want to take it step by step you know.

Well I'm either going fmic or not at all, I don't see the point in buying two intercoolers. And I got like no money in the bank saved up for this, that's why I was asking if anyone would be willing to help. I wasn't expecting anyone to really agree to it, I was just putting out another option than not getting the deal at all.

I know, that's why I wasn't expecting anyone to help, no one really wants to give money to anyone else. I just thought saving $750 instead of $850 was a better deal than no discount at all.

Well at some point I may want to run that much power, but it's not like it doesn't provide any benefit unless you run 400+hp.

I'm going to call up the place tomarrow (if they're open) and ask if they would be willing to do a layaway, though I doubt it, and to see if they are even still doing the group buy. At this point though I'd almost be willing to do it if I could get ANY donations, even though I shouldn't.

Well I just called them. The group buy is still going, but so far he said they only have 8 people signed up, I think someone might have bcked out he said. And it was a no go on the layaway thing.

Against my better judgement I might be willing to get in on this, but even with me, we'd be short one person. Maybe someone can go through this post and contact everyone who posted to see who's down for it, and who might be willing to get in on it. I would, but I got to be at school in a few min. I'll check back later this afternoon to see what's up, let me know if you find another person.

And I'm still taking donations.

Do you have any friends that drives Eclipse's ? I would tell them about the deal that is if you know of anyone most of my friends drive hondas and acuras. But I still look around for some people that drive an eclipse nt, found one person this weekend he said he'll look in to it so I gave him our forum site and hahns web site just so he can see what it is , how much the original price is , and how much of a discount we get through the group buy.

I haven't heard from him yet, I was hoping that he would've called and left a message. Has anyone else heard from him? As for shipping you can probibly pick what type of shipping you want I'll probibly pick a three-day shipping unless it's to high of a price, if it is i'll pick 1 week to 2 weeks wait.

Three-day shipping on a turbo kit? From what I've heard from other people who ordered turbo kits it's usually more like a month to get it. That's ordering through Hahn directly I think, but I don't know how much faster this guy could get them out. Also with an intercooler it's going to be a pretty big package, so it probably won't be to cheap to ship. It may also depend on how far it has to go, he's shipping them for the same state I am, CA, which kinda sucks for me cause I have to pay sales tax which will be about $195. Oh well, hopefully someone will find out soon. If we don't hear back from him soon I'm going to give him a call tomarrow afternoon.

it is for the fuel system...some of the eclipse models were built in late 94-95 and they have the early fuel system...if you are a 96+ then you wont have the old system.

The intercooler is the only difference as far as I know. But the group buy is only for stage 2 kits, the choice being between a side mount and a front mount intercooler.

So has anyone heard back from him yet? I sent my order in around noon friday, and haven't heard anything back yet, but I don't think they're open on the weekends.

No...... I've e-mailed jimmy the information that he needed for my order and then called him for some questions, then e-mailed him again with the question how much the shipping would be to try to come back here and tell how much it would be and how long it will arrive to its destenation. Sorry to confuse anybody with that. Also with KiN and who ever is just now finding about the group buy would we be able to get a little more discount?

I think in one of the early posts it said that we get a discount for 10 but any more and it won't affect the price. I'm not positive so check the thread. Sorry but I'm too lazy right now.

That link is mis-spelling. If you used that email, it's not going to reach him at all. If you guys haven't gotten back from him,
try to send him again about order info. ( jimmyvillalta@hotmail.com )

just keep calling til you get through to make sure he got your email. You don't want to get left out. Better to annoy and confirm than let him forget and miss out.

Is it a good idea to tell him to put the name or screen name on this board?
So we can know who is in this group buy.

Just my idea.

I called him around 7:00pm central time , to see whats up. He said that they would ship out directly from Hahns so I don't really know how fast we will get them in I don't know if or when they will ship them out. Hahns ships from UPS so I don't know how ups is in other peoples towns. Where I live it can be slow at times it took my cat-back exhaust 2 months to arrive but some of the trouble was from a bridge that collapsed on some major highway slowed anybody that was traveling from out of the west. I have a question about the shipping does anyone know who much it is or how much the kit weighs?

The COD charge is 6.00 thats what jimmy told me. I was surprised to hear that it was so low I thought it would be like 50 dollars or more.
It takes a month to arrive? Ahhhh I gota wait another month, oh well I'll have more cash to put a side for other mods.

Called Jimmy today (sat. 6:45pm) and he said he is going to call hahn on monday to check if they're ready. he is going to try to get them shipped directly to our houses to saveon shipping but he's not 100% sure.

I hope that it is a true deal cause I just ordered about 400 dollars worth of stuff for my kit. Plus a guy in my town said he would build me an automatic transmission with all kinds of goodies for better performance for a low price, he'll even sponser my car if I want him to. I say sounds good to me. But a big part of this will be with a turbo if this turns out to be a joke (which I seriously don't think that it is) but if it is I'll be kinda pissed off . But jimmy sounds like he's being honest so I'm trusting him.

I checked with Howell Automotive right before I heard about this group buy. He told me that each and every kit is made to order. Delivery time on each kit is 3-4 weeks. I spoke with Jimmy as well and I have no idea how he can offer COD on a turbo kit that's made to order without some sort of a large deposit. I know many local speed shop owners here in town and HRC is notoriously difficult to get any type of discount. I tried getting the kit through them thinking they can get a better discount. No such luck. I'm not saying that Jimmy cannot come through, but he also mentioned 25% off to me too. That's a stage 2 for the price of a stage 1. My name is on this group buy list. But I'm not sending this guy 1 cent. I either pay HRC directly or it's COD, whatever the COD charge is. I'd rather pay a little bit more for peace of mind.

If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

I hope I'm wrong. I really do. I would love to get this kit at this price. But something smells fishy to me.

Im paying COD, some said they asked the COD price ( which is in a earlier post ) and it was 6$ or somthing like that. I immagine they would discount.. I mean if 10-15 people are all paying 2,500+ $$ on their turbo, thats a alot of money for them to turn down. I havnt sent any money, nor has he ever responded to me with an e-mail, but I have e-mailed him 3x and called him 2x.. so I guess im on the list.

hummm... i totally want this deal and i hope it is legit. i email hrc and ask them if there was a guy named jimmy villalta from pro 1 motorsports doing a group buy on stage 2 with a 25% discount for 10+ people. i'll post what they say...

if this is not legit, can we do our own group buy. i don't know how this works but can't we like all call hrc and ask them to do a group buy for us. there won't be a central person doing the deal but we can send our orders with our names with info, with the money included already all within the sametime.

i wonder if we could do this. i know that hrc could be dick about discounts but if 10 to 15 people call and say that they are from 2gnt and will all paywith a 2 day period.

Ok I've been looking in San Leandro CA. yellow books and I can't find a 14825 E 14th st. Which is pro1 motorsports I find a 14845 which is PepBoys. Jimmy may have just opened a shop around there but its not anywhere on the net or he could be just an indivisual person that orders parts for cars I have a friend that does that he orders all my stuff and other peoples car parts through LandSpeed in AZ. So I dunno I'm still in unless you guys find out that it was a fruad. May be we can just start our own group buy. I'll have to make alittle bit more money than I have now in order to keep my savings account open. Also what happened to the person that originaly started this buy fourm, and I count the people that have applyed on this forum and I get 17 or 18 people that were or are intrested in the group buy to my knowledge we had what 2 people back out well we would have had 15 people to place an order?

Well I'm still in on this, though if it fell through I don't think I would be able to pay the full price or even a small discount on a kit. But I don't think this is a fraud, maybe a joke, but I doubt it. If he was trying to steal our money, he wouldn't be telling us to wait to pay or offer CODs. And one time I called it was someone else answering the phone so I don't think it's just one guy messing around. Some one call him and ask what's up.

Well if it is a real shop, which I bet it is, the guy might not have time to get online all the time, just look at Shaun from NER, he's running around the state with things for his shop. And not all places are online, none of the local shops around here are, but they suck anyways .

Damn, this is post number 200, this thread is getting to be a pain to read even while only viewing one post at a time.

Well DSMeclipseGS calls hahn's today I'm hoping that they do have the orders and jimmy called in. If not I'll try to talk to jimmy on wed, or thurs. to see whats going on and why haven't we heard anything. Mean while I gotan e-mail back from hahn about shipping. So hear is the information.

Our turbosystem kits are shipped though UPS ground and have a flat rate by
the stage kit puchased. The prices are as follows:
Talon/Eclipse, Neon
Stg I $60
Stg II $80
Stg IV $100
Stg V $100

I hope it all works out and that jimmy didn't scam us all, never know he could be selling us used kits or a box full of bricks. Im thinking that he just opened a new shop , maybe thats why I couldn't find it anywhere in the yellow pages.

Hey guys

I called back today (9/17 @ 3:00PM) and from what i discussed with Hahn it looks like this is a scam.

I called and talked to the guy I did yesterday. He said he couldn't find anyone with the info I gave him. I told him the shop, the address, and even the telephone number and the site Jimmy was offering it on (2gnt.com).

However, from what Hahn told me, it looks like the only way to do a group buy with Hahn's products is by being a registered dealer. Hahn told me that Pro1motorsports was not even under their info as a dealer. There is no way Jimmy could be really ordering this stuff without Hahn having any of his info and knowledge. After all, Jimmy claims to have called Hahn and is waiting for their confirmation on the order.

By the way.... in case you didn't see it, I started another thread so that we don't have to go through messages one by one. Check it out, it's called : "TURBO KIT GROUP BUY 2"

I can't right now since I'm busy, but if someone would like to... please call Jimmy and confront him with this information. Let us know.

MODS:

HRC 16g turbo kit, Spearco custom FMIC, Custom IC piping, VT rebuilt engine: Custom 8.8:1 compression CP pistons, Eagle connecting rods, Melling oil pump, Clevite bearings, 370cc injectors, Vortech S-FMU, Apexi N-1 catback exhaust, AFX UDP, Autometer boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge, EGT gauge, Corbin's digital A/F gauge, Tokico Blue shocks, Tein springs (1.5" drop), 18" Konig Verdicts rims, VIS stock-style Carbon fiber hood

hey guy this this is no F@$#@ scam
it might be too late but for the one idiot that call Hahn and spill the beans.
this is how this thing works for those stupid fucks who are talking shit now.
before any shop open a new account companies ask to do a buy in (buy in is an amount that has to be put up front with an order...GROUP BUY) Hahns buy in is $25000.00 to get the dicount that i offer to you guys.
before i open the account i have to have at least the minimum order of 10 turbo kits.
GET IT...
THATS WHY PRO 1 MOTORSPORT IS NOT ONE OF THERE ACCOUNTS
THE NEXT STEP IS TO OPEN THE ACCOUNT WITH THE ORDER READY....YOU DUM ASSS (WHO CALL)

NOW FOR THOSE WHO REALLY WANT TO GO FOR IT THAT DUM ASS REALLY F$#@ UP..
BECOUSE I'M N*O*T SUPPOSED TO SELL THEM FOR THAT AMOUNT A 25%OFF IS WHOLESALE NOT R*E*T*A*I*L.. FOR HELPING UP OPEINING THE ACCOUNT WITH THEM

NOW THE BAD NEWS IS THAT IF THEY KNOW I'M SELLING THEM FOR THAT PRICE THEY WILLNOT SELLTHEM TO ME NOW

YOU STIPD FUCK.........
