I'm informing you guys that bill AB 1493 is on Grey Davis' desk. what does that mean for us. Well "The measure would require the state Air Resources Board to adopt regulations to reduce carbon dioxide and other gases from the exhaust of noncommercial cars, trucks, vans and sport-utility vehicles, starting with 2009 models." That means if this goes through car companies will probably NOT be making Turbo charged cars anymore for California at all after 2009. Unless they figure out a way to turbo charge with LOW LOW LOW emissions Say good bye to factory turbo cars. Keep in mind that this measure will only affect California not the rest of the country. Also, with 2009 only 7 years away, you will probably see other car crowded states adopting similar measures. The 2003 Lancer EVO which is alreadly watered down will probably be pulled from production after its first year out if sales arent "tremendous".............So get one while you can........With GAS prices going up to almost 2.00 a gallon for now 91 octane and the introduction of gas electric hybrid and full on electric cars.......Factory turbos are soon going to be technology of the past. Therefore if you have an AWD 1st gen or 2nd gen turbo. I say KEEP it cause it WILL definately be a classic in the near future.

Hmm I thought that turbo cars had actually lower emissions most of the time? I thought that the efficiency of the turbo with a smaller displacement motor resulted in lower emissions.
