These are pictures I took with my digital camera going to the and from Speedtrials at Buttonwillow Raceway. Heh I hit a new speed record for my car on the way too hehe! I hit 130 MPH trying to catch up to Kory and friends after 2 trucks blocked my way. I also hit 7 psi while I was at it, woohoo intercooling!
We got there at about 6 at night and prepped out cars for battle in the parking lot hehe. It felt wierd because there were other people NOT racers looking at us hehe.
VegasDSMR was already there and he got us a room already and we chilled the rest of the day, watching TV, being amazed at the extremely cheap gas 1.18@91ocatane, datalogging cars (don't know if it worked on my car cuz we never tried), and other stuff. 
The next day we packed up got breakfast and took off for the racetrack. Haha rollin on 205/40/16 tires really sux on the freeway. We had to pay 10 bucks a person to get into the track, what a rip I thought it was 10 a car!
We then tossed our stuff, went to drivers meeting, marvelled at all the racers and cars there, and went to battle.
I was in the drift event because it cost me only 50 buck to drive on a smaller track with more aggressive turns, and I wanted to show that a FF eclipse (RS also!) can drift with the 86s.
Driving on the track was fun, it's like driving on the street but you don't fear dying when you mess up haha Plus when you drift theres nothing to hit. I was scared at first because you see these car coming at a turn really fast and going sideways but you get used to it, as long as you keep your distance and a car spins just slow down and avoid it. I busted some nice drifts as well on practically the whole course. I learned how to left brake and use the ebrake to control a drift also! I also went to the skid pad a tore up my tires. Some of you guys that went shoulda gone on the skid pad also to drift some drift action out also hehe.
Here's that bad stuff that happened though. The roadracers apparently drive like hell with each other and 3 cars got into an accident on course. Haha I got kicked off the course twice. Now this one really sux. The cornering marshall was being a dick. There were this S turn that whenever I went really fast and drifted into it the car suddenly caught hella understeer and plowed into the dirt. I did this like twice on one run. The cornering marshall for that turn was black flagging me and making stupid hand gestures to me, like "bad don't do that." Like I could help it I'm trying to find out how to take the turn the fastest while drifting. Apparently they say I go into the dirt then just drive off, but lots of cars did that and I remember waiting and looking for cars before I moved back onto the road. Well it happens 1 more time on the last session and I hit the dirt pretty hard this time and seperate the tire from the rim. Well knowing I'm out of the race I hobble back to the pit area. The Cornering Marsall on the way there give me a "YOUR OUTTA HERE" gesture. I wanted to give him a gesture from the middle of my finger myself at the moment. So I go into the pit area and Moto the dude that's incharge of the drifting event tell me uhoh you got a flat don't worry dude it's the last run anyway and he was cool with it. So I go to put on my other set of wheels on. And I find out latter that my friend over heard that cornering marshall yell into the radio to Moto "GET THAT CAR OFF OF MY TRACK!, THAT GREEN MITSUBISHI!" Now I think that's just descrimination, he was getting pissed that I was messing up on this one corner but cautiously entering the track and not making a big mess, but when other drifter spin out all over the place dirtying everything on different parts of the track he take it out on me. Wish I coulda slapped that dude. Oh well the tire was jacked up so that was it for me.
I got to ride with Kory's buddy Andy in his NX2000. Dayam there is something unaturally fast about that car. It kept up with Porsche 911, and M3s with ease. Most of the time he was gaining on them. The thing has braking from the gods and acceleration to back it up. The most awesome thing is that it's nearly stock except for a few suspension mods, racing tires, and racing brake pads. My arm is still sore from bracing myself inside the car.
One thing about Speedtrial is that it seemed somewhat unorganized. Well maybe for the drifters I guess. All in all the event was very fun and very well priced to drive on a real race track and go crazy. check it out at www.speedtrialusa.com

Oh yeah hehe you'll see a drifting Eclipse RS in SRO's coverage article of the Speedtrial Drift event. Hmm wonder who's car that is getting sideways with the FR cars?
