If you have a decnt amount of experience with either of these sytems (which you obviously don't since you're posting this question) I would advise you to go with the HRC kit. You will need stage 2 and more than likely a Stage 3+ to touch a modded LT1. Stage 2 in either kit runs you about 250hp. What do LT1s put out? 300? 350? To hang with those dogs you will need much boost and tuning. You can't achieve all this on stock internals. I say you should maybe lower your standards a bit just for now. Consider building to give them a decent scare as you pull on them somewhere along the line. I suggest picking up an HRC stage 2 with the SMIC to save a few bucks (I even know someone selling a kit with less than 2,000 miles on it if you're interested). Then, start saving or shopping around for an FMIC for a bit more power once you have a feel for tuning the a/f and egts on your newly turboed car. Once you introduce boost, you're just that much closer to the edge and blowing the rings could be the least of your troubles. Once you have an FMIC in there, you should be pushing close to 250hp at the crank. Just start saving for your new engine as you will have to have one to go beyond that on a regular basis without detruction following.

Good luck sir.

...it's all basicaly based on turbo preference, the T3/T4 is bigger thereore taking longer to spool and less around the town go and low end power, the 16G spools fast but ultimately won't make the power of the T3/T4, so there is also the upgrade which is the 20G and 25G, so first you have to decide what you want. You said you want speed to bet a Camaro. I'd say in terms of reliability go for the hahn since they have customer support

i know hahn has more support but is the t3/4 going to get me better results at the track? i am going to do my internals in april and i just want speed not really around town just at the track with is 1/8 mile track. i know the s16g spools faster but does the t3/4 make up for that after it spools example ( right of the line the 16g spools and takes off but will the t3/4 catch back up due to its late spool? does the hahn still feel like its pulling top end?

please awnser soon i am buying one next week thanks

taloniized here in Phoenix pulled a 14.40 running the Star with the T3T4 at 10psi on stock internals, stock clutch. Shortly after that, we replaced his entire engine, since 10psi daily for about 3 years finally took it's toll on his rings. For reference, Uberingram pulled in a 14.39 in a stock SRT4 that night on his first run. This was on a 1/4 mile at Firebird Int'l Raceway. I don't know how turbo lag will hurt you on the 1/8th.
