man, what a shitty way to start out!!! First time i ever go to the track.. i was just gonna watch my friend run and i got the urge to take a trip down the 1/4 too.. well big mistake i get up to the lights and i feel good i launch what i thought was low 3k i can launch easily at 4 on the street. well i go to shift into second and all hell breaks loose. my shit just rips apart, the c-v joint falls on the trak and i just helplessly coast down the track hitting the trap speed at 20.27 mph. i come to rest at about 100 meters past the trap and just wait for someone to pull me back.. worst experience in a car in my life next to hitting a tree. im not sure how well i did at everything else but my r/t was like .950 cause i had no idea what the lights were like and my 60ft was 2.479 and 60ft mph was 27.47. after that it's all down hill i only hit the 1/4 trap at 20.27mph.. i don't think im ever gonna run the track again. call me retired or whatever but i'll just stick it to the streets where i've had my luck. hope nothing like this happens to u guys..

yea ur telling me, i was all set to go to the beach tomorrow. now the only sand im gonna be laying on is in my driveway. My whole weekend shot to fixing my car so i can go back to work monday and recoop the money i lost. damn towing alone was $65 not to mention the cost of whatever it was i busted the shit out of. it looks nasty down there i can see shit hanging down.. im scared to jack it up tomorrow and crawl under there. the only thing that i guess i can look good on the whole thing is that i had a 2.4 60ft my first time when my shit broke right off the line.. haha not to bad getting a 2.4 60ft from just the power u got on ur launch.. right now im not even gonna think about the track, my mind is on getting my car to move again. any idea how much a new c-v is or some parts around it??? cause im still not sure what i ripped.

I think the easiest way to do it would be to just replace the halfshaft that blew out on you. I replaced my passenger side axle with one from http://raxles.com/index1.htm . The shipping was quick, and they only use new CV joints - no rebuilt joints like you would get from Autozone or someplace like that.

well i wish it was that easy.. i have massive carnage! i guess this is what happened.. i ripped apart 2 motor mounts the transmission one and the one right under the battery. those ripped apart my engine dropped 3-4 inches on the driver sidea and tore out my c-v joint. it ripped the boot to shreds. and my belts which were perfect before are now *get this* actually upside down! that's right the belts twisted upside down and one ripped in half length wise.. not sure if this is the extent of the damage or not but so far it's pretty damn messy. thanks for the link man i appreciate it.

well it's all replaced the mounts were welded and the half shaft had to be replaced.. i wanna kick that guys butt that installed my clutch find him somewhere grrr!! but anyway it ran me about $300. $80 for the half shaft and a few other parts here and there i forget how much and 15 hours of labor for $200. good deal pays to know mechanic's i owe that guy big time. but now im having a few problems... my car kinda shimmies sometimes when i go to take off from a stop and i have this "tink" sound coming from my rear???? it's not a squeek like a bad bushing but more of a metal on metal kinda "tink" is really the only way to describe it. seems to happen more in lower gears like 1st and 2nd when i have more weight transfer during shifting. if u guys had this problem let me know!!!
