hey remember u have the advantage when it comes to acceleration. use that to your advantage, get a good launch but not to high or u'll be spinning ur tires while he's running down the track. Practice the launch a few times before u go and find a level that u feel comfortable at. Try to get as lil wheel spin as possible a nice chirp sound is what ur looking for not a long burn out.. There are plenty of threads on launching... u can definately take the neon, i have no doubt u can if u play the launch right. I raced an eclipse who was auto (same engine as the neon) he had the normal mods and all i had was an injen short intake. I took him hands down, car and a half.. don't sweat it...

oh one more thing run down ur gas till u have almost NOTHING 1 gallon equals 5.5 pounds. I like to race with my gas light just about to flash.. haha don't worry u still have about a gallon and a half when the light comes on (or so i hope) that's alot of weight to save. do the math.

it should be an alright race but you should take the win. ive raced 2 neons, one was a 5spd with a bunch of mods and the other an automatic with nothing. i won both.

my gas light doesn't come on when i have 3 1/2 it's less that 2 gallons that's for sure. but im pretty damn much stock and i would just waste the hell outta neons all night when our group goes out..but i haven't been touched by a non-turbo eclipse either soo. figure that out for urself. my opinion, don't worry about a neon my friend eric just raped one with tons of mods and i run side by side with him. cake walk man

I have raced my friends 00' neon 2 times and beat him both. Seems like we got a bit more in each gear..Plus if he is a auto you should own him.

You would eat him even if he was manual. My cousin has the same car and I've beaten plenty of times when I didn't have AF/X UDP. Now, I'd probably kill him even worse. So, go for it. Don't worry.

Mods: AF/X UDP, NGK-BKR5E spark plugs, Airbox mod. There was a filter at the end of the stock intake pipe, but i ran over it. GS-T Muffler soon(maybe(nevermind))!

I thought gas was 7 pounds per gallon?

My gas light has never come on, how big is our tanks? either it doesn't work, or I have just never ran my car down that low.
