#212, "What is your embarassment moment"

Heres mine, I was pulling up to a stop light with nobody in front of me except a car in the next lane at the stop light. Well he starts reving up his engine, and I look at him and my its my old friend with my ex girl in the passanger seat, and there laughin gayley and he said go when the light turns green, well light turns green and i stalled mah engine and he took off, felt so embarassed infront of my ex and my friend. I accidently let go of clutch before i pushed the gas hehe

On my 20th birthday I went to get gas in town and in front of about 20 people I drove away with the pump nozzle still in my car. I ripped the hose right out of the bay. My two buddies that were in my car were laughing their asses off.

I was at New England Dragway at the import event in 2000, and I though I was going to be clever and make my own fiberglass intake with a resonance chamber (theoretically, it would tune your car for more HP at a certain RPM range, it fit onto the upper part of my iceman intake). Well, this thing was ugly, really ugly, but it worked. It didn't give more or less pwer than the iceman, but it worked.

The problem was it wasn't attached so well to the car. It seems fiberglass and epoxy resin gets a little soft if heated up too uch

Here's the embarrasing moment. I was in line at the drag strip and pulling in front of the burnout box, when I turned the wheel to straighten the car out and moved forward, I hear this loud crunching sound. I get out of the car and see my ugly intake laying onthe ground behind the car. It had charred slightly as it hit the header when it fell out. So, naturally I ran out of the car to get it and threw it inthe back seat and did the drag run without it.

The only thing was, the stands were packed, I mean PACKED to capacity, so EVERYONE saw this piece of something or other fall out of the back of the car and though my car was falling apart at the line! A few people had to come by and ask me what the hell was going on and what on earth I was thinking.

Hmm. Lets see. Uh, it had to be tonight when I was at the track. I did a dry burnout with 18psi in my tires and overrevved. I heard a clanging noise but figured it was the mustang next to me. So, light goes green, and I go to launch it and the car doesnt move. I check to see if its in gear, and it is. So, me and the other guys at the tree push it back and what do I see. A big trail of transmission fluid and pieces of the bell housing and what appears to be pieces of some gears laying on the track in a puddle of fluid. Yeah, it was embarassing when a few hundred people were laughing at me, and I held up the last run at the night after we had all waited for 2 hrs after a piece of shit Chevy broke. Ahem. So. There you are.

mine wasnt racin, but i was takin this hot a$$ chik up to the valley of fire to see the sunset (i know, kinda gay, but she like the idea).

anyways, its about an hour and a half straight into the desert from vegas, and my ecu shorts out after an hour of drivin in the desert.

i had to walk for like 20 minutes to get my cell to work on analog, then wait 3 hours for a tow truck.

cool thing is that a helicopter was circliing above us for like 3 minutes and i told her to flash her boobs to them, and i gotta great shot.

once satan replaced my ecu, i took her back up there.

i know she was embarrased when i didnt have any napkins for her head of road she gave me.

when my tranny blew i was racing a civic ... back then i was ignorant to the problems that manual shifting does ... i went off the line at the light in first .. and pulled on him ... threw her into second .. and nailed it almost to redline .. having at least a few cars on him i decided to rev on it high into second .. ( so i could get that jumpy look high in the rpm range ) well i released the gas and nailed it .. bang the trans coolant seals broke and i fryed away almost all the gears and fused the plantary overdrive gear ... the civic passed me beeping his horn ... as i rolled in "n" smoking like the mountains in afganastan .. lol oh well

This one sucked.... a week after i met my girlfriend we were walking towards my car and she just commented on how nice it looks. And that she bets i never have problems with it because it looks like i take care of it. I started it up when i heard an loud BANG! then a subsequent CLANK CLANK CLANK with smoke pouring out of the hood. I shut it off and popped the hood and didnt see anything obviously wrong. so i have my GF bump the starter while i watch the engine. And then i saw it.... I blew a spark plug out of the motor!

civic pulls next to me and revs at a light.. light turns green.. i power break and took off on him . anyway top of first 1- 2 cars ahead i shift into second (these were my manual shift days.. and the reason i dont do it anymore) i climb to the top of 2nd and he is like 2 or 3 cars behind.. i release the gas and rev it to add insult to injury .. well this blew my tranny ...smoke and Fluid everywhere.. he passed me and threw on the hazards ..grrrrrrrrrr

I think mine is when I first got my GS. I was cruising along in fifth and by buddy was running alongside me in his Civic. This was the second time I had ever driven a stick. I wanted to downshift and bury my friends civic. Well I pushed the clutch in and tried to "find" fouth and found second instead. I'm glad I didnt let the clutch out all the way.

Well I hate to admitt this but my GF killed me in her camaro. We were at a light goin to her house(1st time i was there), well the light turned green and I redlined 1st and 2nd, she pulled right by me and took a car or 2 on me. Later I asked her if she was tryin(because she love to drag) but to my surprise she said "no, I had it at half. Were u tryin" I was embarassed as hell.

Mine was back in 97 or 98. I had a 92 Hyundai Excel, chrome hub caps, the worx. I was checkin out these girls that were driving in the lane next to me, when all of a sudden BAM!! The road narrowed and I ran it up on the curb, bent a wheel, messed up the whole front end.

Well, I was racing my friend that has a 97 hatch of course it has a motor swap, anyways we took off at the line and I start to pull on him until forth gear, well what happen was I didn't put in forth I decided to shift into second like a jackass, going about 90 and putting it into second is not a good idea, my car just jerked forward like I was slamming on the breaks, I blew the bottom end.

my embarrasing moment happened about a year ago. i pulled up to a mustang gt at a red light. he was revving his engine like crazy, and so i responded. i was so anxious cause it was my first real race with someone on the road. i kept staring at the light getting ready for it to change. when the left turn light came on, i was so nervous that i popped it in gear and took off, thinking it was the green light for me to go. the cars turning left honked at me and i knew the guy in the mustang was laughin his ass off. thats my moment.

I have 2
First was when I had my civic and the clutch went out the first day I took it to school during lunch. Bad enough I had my boy in the car, but there was a really hot girl too!

2nd was wedesday when I had to take the RS to my uncles body shop and explain to him that I managed to run into a 9 foot high stone wall.
what made it wose was that I had bought the car from his shop, so all the mechanics knew it since it had just been there to get fixed, so everyone was like WTF? didn't we just send that thing out?

1995 RS
new engine, I think I'm just going to leave it stock now.

Well, last year, I was driving with a girl I was, um, getting to know better. Yeah, that's it. Well, then I hear bang, clank clank... spun a rod doing about 95 MPH at 3AM. Ah well. She liked how I kept composed and calm throughout, and we still wound up hooking up. Bizzarre. My other embarassing moment was my last trip to the track. My first run netted me an 18.1. Yes, EIGHTEEN! Well, wheelspin was a bitch, and not having the front and rear motor mounts didn't help, and the extra 400 lbs of crap wasn't beneficial. So I have a turbo AWD guy drive it. Didn't launch and didn't redline. Netted a 22.1. Todd (VX-100) took her for a spin and redeemed me with a 16.7. Not a good night. :::-D::

Dude, Boeing called. They want their wing back.

hmm it's pretty embarassing when you understeer and plow into cones during an autox and everyone saw you do it. Or try to bust a fat drift you do something stupid like step on the brake or upshift. That stuff just wastes you time and feel cheated.

Hmm I guess the most embarassing was when I first built my Home Depot ABS cold air extension intake and I just attached my HKS filter to the extension and didn't have anything to clamp to the stock piping. SO thinking yeah I'm badass I'll go take my car to the illegals (yeah this was back in the day when I used to do that nonesense) and I yeah intake is working great little more power and all. Then while I'm driving up a bridge following the other rice burners I feel a clunk followed by a draging noise. SO I pull over on the bridge with my hazards on and I'm horrified to see my extension and HKS filter are dragging under the car. I'm like whew the filter is ok just alittle scratched up. SO I put it on the the short arm and hand tighten it. Big mistake on the FREEWAY I feel a clunk, I'm like OMG WTF was that. ANd my friend is with me and all I felt hella embarassed. So we go to were we wanna go and I find out the freakin bolt loosened and the cage for the HKS filter fell out with the filter element. The rest of the night I'm driving around with no filter while it sprinkling and depressed. Then when I got home I busted out OH NO the stock intake box O_o! I sure felt the loss of power! So I had to go make CAI stage 2 and I won't get into that, but it ends with a happy story hehe....

My most embarrassing moment was when I was 15, almost 16, and got my first car, a 1987 Fiero. IT was my first time driving stick, and it have a worn shifter. So needless to said it keep dying on me. And to make it worst when I pull up to a stoplight, my car run out of gas!! The fuel gauge was broken and it wouldn’t move!! LOL It was stick on 1/4 tank!! I keep trying to start it, but to no prevail. My friend and I had to push it out of the highway. Then we walked to the gas station one block down, and just some gas. You guys wont believe the rest of the $h*t that happen to me that night, so i going to leave it out. I glad I got rid of that car!!

i know this is an old topic but this is REALLY bad.

After an import show at the Tacoma dome, lines of people are still outside waiting to get in. I pull out of the parking lot and stop for dome pedestrians. Well the stupid tranny only goes halfway into gear and stops and i drop the clutch. ---shudder--- it was bad, f**king chrysler transmission!!!

my most embarassing moment happened about 4 months after I got my talon esi, I was just driving along minding my own business when at this stop light some fool in a truck tries to race me, being that I wasn't in the mood I held back but he cut me off all nasty so I had to move into another lane, cutting off another fool in a mustang. so the guy in the mustang cuts me off and pissed the hell out of me, unluckily there were no lights anymore as we were entering the freeway. anyway, long story short, I ended up passing him going 135mph got to see the stupid look on his face just before I saw the stoplights at the off ramp, tried to slam on the brakes and went spinning off the interstate into a ditch.

Well its not my story, but it was a friend of mines and he owns a 2gnt.
Well my friend was driving his girlfriend home at 3am. He turned left at a stop light and his girl friend flew out the door. She was hammered and didnt close the door hard because she didnt want to wake the neighbors. Half her face is gone and she needs plastic surgery.
I bet my friend just beat the crap out of her and then made up a story. }>

Here's mine in the Eclipse: I was making a right turn in front of a mall, when I heard a big BANG. I knew I obviously hit something on the right hand side, so I turned left to avoid it... then you can hear a grinding sound after. I turned to the side and pulled over when I saw these people waving at me. I was like, wtf? And they had in their hand my sideskirt. I got out, and I acted like nothing happened, and thanked the person that had my sideskirt. So here I am, taking a sideskirt back into my car like nothing happened in front of a busy mall (Puente Hills to be exact, and for those who know, they have lots and lots of beautiful girls that loiter around there) and I took off =)

I read half this post and thought it was recent up until one of the threads mentioned it was from Jan. Anyway, My most embarrassing moment is goin over some railroad tracks and having a peice of my bumper fall off in the middle of an intersection. I thought I could fix it with fiberglass resin so I parked my car and ran back about a block up into the intersection to receive my broken peice of bumper. My friend didnt seem to give a shit because he was on his cell. But all the cars waiting for me to get the hell out the street during rush hour seemed to.

I say the worst moment for me was when I was at the drag strip with my 84 VW Rabbit. During the day I switched the nos from 50 to 75 shot thinking the engine could handle it. So when the light turned green and I pushed the button BOOM the entrie front of the car caught fire for a few secs from a mix of fuel and oil. What was even more funny when I opened the hood a piece of my piston was jamed in the radiator. Everybody was like damn.

holy crap! Don't race rabbits. Another embarassing moment for me is drinking 14 bud ice's (1.5% alcohol each in half an hour) and throwing up and passing out at a party with 1/4 of my senior class looking on (no one else threw up or passed out). Actually, i think it made me popular... jk

ok...I guess I'll join in. I have two. I was sitting at a red light with an s10 in the next lane over. Well,it was a guy driving with his girl. The light turned green and he took off really fast, so I punched it. Long story short, I grinded every gear and lost. it was my worst driving day ever! oh yeah! I also got completely SMASHED by a 2000 trans am! Right out of first gear and everything! Luckily it was at night and hardly anybody seen me!

My moment was when i was in my gs (body kit, decals the works ) one night on the bxriverparkway and here i am feeling all good about myself cruising at about 60mph when this old ass civic (91 bone stock looking dx hatch) was in my lane so i jump on his ass peeping my horn and shit so he would move and to my surprice he guns it so i gun it after him . I pull to his side and start to pass him by a couple of car lengths then as soon as we hit about 100mph he flew past me and kept going : O wtf!! I was in shock fuck embarassment that came afterward. So just my luck he gets off my exit and i pull up behind him at a light then this asshole throws the hazards on and rides away!!! I know i made his night.

p.s 1 month later i went star stage 1 .

Mine would be in my 89 S-10 Blazer. It was my first car in high school and we had about 7 people crammed into it on the way to a party. Well I back out of the driveway and get distracted by one of the people in the back (they were messin with my hat) anyway I figured I would take car of them by gunning it and watching them roll around in the back...well it worked just fine the only problem was I was still in reverse and backed full gun into a light poll.....

Broke my back glass and dented the hell out of the tailgait and bumper. Boy I showed them!!

My moment was when I was chasing some buddies of mine down a suburben street and went to make a turn and hit some gravel (damn shitty tires) and spun, I avoided the all cars parked in the road. Brought her to a stop and went to check my pants, and let off the brake not thinking, rolled back into a damn mailbox and put a nice mailbox dent/scratch in my hatch. Just lovely. Also, none of my friends stopped to check on me. Like 3 other cars. And they all saw. I'm going to Best Buy to pick up some new friends. Damn.

i'm joining this thread. it would be funny to see this after a year. anyways...

my most embarassing moment was on rt. 2 east (here in massachusetts) racing some hondaboy. of course i raped his pitiful car, some type of early 90's accord with a jiggly buzzing fart can and altezzas. it was what happend afterwards that kind of sucked. hondaboy is now behind me, taking the same exit that i am. at the end of the exit ramp i want to take a right, but there is no right on red so i chill. of course, i'm concentrating if hondaboy is going to let me have enough room to do the "i have a 5 speed and i'm stopped on a hill so give me a break" thing, he's about 1.6 inches from my rear bumper. as i watch him in my rear view mirror, i see the light turn green - like a moron i start to release the clutch long before i give it gas and i stall like a n00bie. i can almost hear hondaboy laughing in his Starting-To-Rust-But-I've-Got-Altezzas-So-It's-All-Good 1992 accord automatic behind me. i should have probably been shot on the spot, for making a fool out of myself and my car.

well, that was long before i had a turbo. if it all happened over again, i'd just do the blow off valve thing a few times and he'd tweak and it would be all good. anyways, i'm done now.

ive got a good one. i was obsessed with eclipses and expecially after i seen F&F (yah i know but i liked them before ). and i found my future eclipse sitting at a car lot. i had never driven a stick before either. he told me he would guide me along and he would be there in a sec just to start it up and wait. so i did and not knowing anything about them i didnt have the clutch in. i jumped over the log and flew off down the grass hill at the car lot then half into the road. he ran down and helped me get it back into the car lot. that wasnt a good way to start off the day. and in my test drive i killed it about 100 times in the middle of my town. and i continued to do that after i bought it for the next month or so .

Last winter I kept telling my girlfriend to be careful when driving in the snow and to pay attention whenever I drive in the snow because guys are better drivers blah blah blah. Anyway, we were on our way to a school dance with my friends who were in two other cars (one behind me and one in front) on a pretty snowy day and I started sliding a bit, panicked, and...DECIDED TO PULL THE E-BRAKE so I could stop. Yeah...the entire time she was shrieking and I was yelling "Don't worry I've got it!" while we spun out which seemed like for eternity and finally ended up in a ditch. So on of my friends got in front of the car and told me to ease on the gas while in reverse while he pushed from the front. I was still a little shaken up so I floored it and covered him in snow...he wasn't happy.

heh. i'm sure i have a few... but the one that comes to mind immediately was when i was at a Sound & Security Specialists car show and i was parked in the lot across the street next to Uncivilized car club, and then i backed out of my space with 2 of my friends in the car and the lot wasn't level so i kept rolling back when i put it into drive and i didn't give it gas... long story a little longer was that i stalled my car in a parking lot infront of Uncivilized car club (whose members consist of like 3 guys and 4 good lookin females).
needless to say, there was much laughing at me going on

Lol I'm right with you. After getting my car my friend stalled his ZX2 and I was making fun of him and bragging about how I haven't killed it for a long time. We get in my car to go get something to eat. At the first stop light a Mustang GT with two hot girls pulls up next to us. My left foot is cramping so I let off the clutch thinking I was in neutral. Sure enough, it was in 1st and the car stalled right when the light turned green. That sucked. I had to hear it from my friend AND the girls saw the whole thing. Stupid manual tranny.

Well, here goes mine...

One time I was racing my friend's Integra GSR w/ one of the hottest girls I've ever seen riding in my car (at around 3am) on a hwy, and we were pulling into a Wal-Mart, which was on the other side of the 4 lane divided hwy, I crossed the intersection then gunned it down a straight away (there was NO ONE around) and praciticing many of times, I proceided to drift at a small little parking lot intersection into a 1 way, 1 lane road w/ concrete curb on each side @ around 40 mph. I told the amazingly hot girl to "hang on" or "watch this" or something cocky, and started the drift early and properly. I didn't realize quite how narrow the road I was going into was, and I almost made it!!....almost... As I started removing the wheel from the direction of the turn (straighting it up), I straightened it to soon, my tires caught girp, and sent me flying into the far curb as if I understeered. This was when I was riding on my stock 14" Eagle Talon Hubcapped Steel Wheels. All the people waiting in the parking lot for us had to dodge the hubbies that went flying off my car as if it were a skeet range. I rolled up to everyone lauging there ass off as if they have never lauged before on blacks with my wheels wobbling as if they weren't attached to my car. I made a complete ass of myself

Ok here goes: Last week on like a saturday afternoon I was driving w/two buddies in my car to go out to eat. This car, it was a total POS..but it looked like an early 90's or late 80's crown vic or even lincon...well he comes flying by me and cuts me off. We pull up to the light together and he looks at me...granted, I have 2 big dudes in my car w/me, but I was thinkin' "well, its only a damn crown vic"...I launched wrong but was still way out ahead...thing is, he was letting me go...he then gunned it when I had about 5 car lengths on him and proceeded to pass me....and I mean PASS ME. I got my butt handed to me.

Oh yeah, and I missed the turn to the restaurant

Crown vic's are no joke dude. The police ones are even crazyer, my friends got one.

Anyways this is the best story ever! heh. My friend just picked up his car from getting his brakes done. They did'nt tighten the lugs on one of his front wheels! He was taking a turn and the one of the front wheels poped off, his car sparked acrost the ground, and the wheel went rolling down the street. Well this was in a suburban area, people were out on the street and stuff. Everyone started laughing at him until they noticed the wheel just hit this guys dog as he was walking it on the sidewalk! I seriously almost pissed my pants!!

Hehe... I have plenty of interesting stories, but most were in POS cars. Anyway, I remember i was driving an auto and i was trying to act all cool so i revved the engine and nuetral dropped it pulling out of a restaurant. The sad thing is i somehow put it in reverse instead of drive and nearly ran into some guy in a new truck behind me. Embarassed, I gunned it and pulled out onto the highway and he thought i did it on purpose. He road my bumper, then pulled along side me, flipped me off and tried to run me off the road. The guy in the passenger seat pulled out a handgun and fired a shot (just in the air i think, but still damn scary).

Another time, i was driving along in a hurry to get to work and i was weaving in and out of traffic and apparantly i cut off the wrong dude... he pulled up next to me and started yelling profanities, so i looked over at him and was like WTF dude... then i look in front of me and traffic is stopped... i slam on the breaks, but didn't have enough time to stop... hit the car in front of me, which hit the car in front of her. not a good day.

Then I was out w/ a bunch of my friends and we all left to go to the bowling alley down the street. Well me being the skilled driver that i am, I try to drift around a corner going way to fast and i slam into the cement curb. bent my control arm and destroyed a wheel, tire, and some other alignment parts... sad thing is no one saw it happen cause they all went a different way to the place. I show up 10 minutes later (cause i walked the rest of the way) and i got to explain my stupidity.

I have MANY MANY more, but i'll leave it at that for now.

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?

mines pretty simple... i was at sear's point raceway for one of the norcal meets and i made it to the third round, everyone else was gone. so i pull up to the line, green, go through 1st, 2nd, go into third and it doesnt engage. it grinds like a mofo and after it finally gets into gear...it slips soo bad. finished my run at 17.9@75mph. oh yea, i lost to an EX civi it was a long ride home.

Theris just alot of tension. i didnt say a word to her and the day before we where "you know". so my friend was like lets go to the arcade. but thier where 6 in total and she was driving a f-150. All the guys get into my car and all the girl get into hers. we start driving and she takes off like a bat out of hell. My friend beside me says you ant gonna let her beat you to the acrade are you. Of course im stupid back then am im like hell no. I guess she was a little pissed at me. So to get thier its down the street and take a right at the lights. Shes infront of me. we are heading to the light that you have to take a right at. the light turns red. she stops. thier a store right on the corner. so my bright idea was to cut threw the parking lot and aviod the red Light.Well i forgot 2 major things. A- im in a 1986 Olds Delta 88 Royale(boat) B- im doing 48 MPH. so i fly into the parking lot im so excited im gonnna beat her that i tottally miss the exit of the parking lot. now its either go over the curb or hit the tree and the wall, cuz i coudnt stop i was going to fast. So i say out loud. SHIT I MISSED THE EXIT. then i was quit for a second and turn around to the back seat and said IM GOING OVER THE CURB like i a captin of a ship tell us to attack or something. so i fly off this curb doing almost fifty and this was HUGE curb. Sparks fly everywhere first from my front slaming the ground and then from the back slaming the ground. well shti i was on a mission didnt even stop or slow down head stright to the acrade. I get thier before her of course and we all meat up again and all the girls had that look of AWE and the look of YOUR A TOTAL DUMBASS. but i was Shit happens. It was pretty funny but you had to be thier

First time at the track and I have no clue what to do. I see everyone running over puddles and lighting up the tires. So I hurry up there. What I fail to realize (im so damn nervous) is that my wheel is turned all the way in. I dump the clutch to burn out and I almost hit the flag man in the center of the strip. He had to dive out of the way or get his ass run over by pikachu. Interesting enough is that I ran a 14.39 that run.

I was at a light next to a Volvo 850 turbo Wagon. I had about a 3 foot headstart and got smoked. Still not living that down.

Wow..long thread!

Luckily for me I only have one embarssing moment that I can think of. I think mostly because I know how to pick my fights being mostly stock like I am. But one night shortly after I put my exhaust on I was feeling all big and bad sitting at a stop light when a grocery gett'n four door grand prick pulled up next to me. I was like, whateva, until the light turn green and that guy took off like a raped ape. So I was like, F that:nono, and at the next light I decided I was gonna learn him good. But as it turn out he skool'd me and skool'd me hard, like a cathlic nun, not once, not twice, but 3 times! I wasn't about to back down, I guess I'm just thick headed that way. Later on I decide he was probably supercharged, away that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

1:30 am friday june 13, 2003.

Trying to turn left off of main street, the road is dark because they took out the light and were in the process of taking out the median.

Since I didnt know where to turn, I was in the center of the road, thinking it was a turn lane. Then my wheel snaps and locks up and im scraping across the top of 1/3 of a broken median. There were no construction signs or anything.

Next day, the median is gone and there is now a turn lane where I had wrecked 8 hours before....

Cop gave me a ticket for improper lane usage, which I am going to fight in court. All I have to do is show up and tell the judge, go look for yourself that is a turn lane, Capt. Dickhead the cop must have been on some acid or something man....

After this, since my front bumper was cracked already, I decided to take my car and ramp a few sets of railroad tracks... The last set I did, I slammed down and my clutch was totally loose, couldn't shift at all.

Turns out there was a hole in my slave cylinder before I even bought it, and all the clutch fluid had mysteriously leaked out ( but there was never any in my driveway?)

I found out today that my car has previously been in a major accident, the mechanic said there are some welding marks on my tranny, I'm supposed to go tomorrow to check it out, but he said it shouldn't cause any problems.

My embarrassing moment was being the most recent person to find this thread and not noticing it is older than Moses until people started to talk about it in here...

Actually, mine was last weekend. run4cvr, cota4xx and I were pulling my engine and tranny out and they had my ass under the car trying to remove the mid pipe of the exhaust so we could get a crow bar on the tripod thing that the pass. side CV goes into on the tranny. I try the wrong size socket on the impact wrench and almost round it off.
I go to pull the socket off and burn my fingers on it (it was spinning on the bolt a few seconds). I say "SHIT! THAT'S HOT!" John says, check the bolt out, is it loose? I reach up and grab the bolt I was just spinning on "SHIT!! THAT'S HOT TOO!"

Oh yeah, and I had a dead Sparrow in my grill for who knows how long before John crawled under there to drain the coolant puuding...

My most embarassing moment, was after the installation of my turbo kit I went cruising at the local mall. In front of starbucks, there were these local ricers hanging out with girls. I decided to spool it hard. Thenext thign I knew, I heard a thunk...clank. Everybody infront of starbucks looked and giggled. Feeling retarded, I pulled over at the nearest gas station, after limping away, only to find out, my Blow off valve...blew off the silicons coupler. I'm such a choad..

mine was when I had my 3000gt, I was going down us 82, when this black eclipse pulls up beside me and starts revving his engine, so I'm like ok, so he hopped on it. he got in front of me and then switchind into my lane. I was furious because he jumped on it and then got right in front of me. So I gun it and catch him well I couldnt get over due to some beater in the other lane so i get in the turning lane. Little did I know that it was the wal-mart turning lane. I dive into stop sign and those little white bump things. and everyone that was at the gas station are looking at me like, wtf??? not only that, the cops got me too for reckless driving. I took that to court and told them that a guy nearly hit me when he switched over in my lane so i had to do that to avoid an accident. he took it off.

Ok I have a couple. First one involves one of the worst days of my driving life. A friend of mine takes me to Huntsville to look at a car his friend has for sale. We get up there, and the dude isn't open minded to my sense of humor and hates me after I finish my first sentence. Five minutes later, we go outside so I can look at the car. Somehow, I lock the keys in the car. And I never did touch the door locking button. I don't know what happened. Anyway, he was pissed off because that was the only key he had so I was feeling pretty stupid. I offered to give him money in case he needed to call a locksmith. Well the friend I was with said I should go up the road to get us something to drink. I took his car, which was a 95 Civic hatch with a B18C motor swap in it. That car would fly by the way, even though all of you hate hondas. Well, the store was no more than 500 yards away. I'm sitting in the road waiting for traffic to clear so I can turn in and I hear tires squealing. I look in the mirror and see an old truck chillin in the back seat of a car that wasn't mine. As soon as I realized I wasn't dead, I thought oh shit this isn't my car, I have to fix it before I go back. Yeah the car was totaled. Got hit so hard that the truck stamped Ford into the bumper. Horrible day that was.

Ok my next one was my first time at the dragstrip. I get up to the line and I'm nervous as hell. Popped the clutch and killed it at the starting line. Cranked it up and started again, grinded second, and ran a 14.589 in 1/8 mile in a 99 eclipse gs. I was so pissed and embarassed I was shaking. Ran a 11.3 right after that, and since then have gotten it down to 10.7 learning how to launch it. No mods since then either. Not bad eh? Hope this was entertaining.

hmm.. mine would definitely be back when i had my old s10 with the 383 stroker, that thing would romp just about anything.. anyways, i was at a light, and this extremely HOT, and i do mean HOT chick was in the next lane in her mustang gt revving at me. Of course i was all cocky and shit, and i was revving back at her (i had an auto at the time) and i had it in neutral so i could rev at her, and when the light turned i jammed it into first but i didnt give it enough gas and *sputter sputter* die. yeah. i had a huge cam in the motor and if you didnt give it gas in 1st it would just die. And thats what happened. *shakes head* so i turn it on and catch up to her at the next light, and this chick is LAUGHING her ass off. To make up for it, i did a powerbrake burnout, and took off... and ended up toasting my transmission a day later. *argh*

i'm full of embarrassing moments so heres a few to entertain (my cars in the shop and i dont work today i've got nothing better to do than post on here).

1. anyway my friend nathan has a 96 supra its completely beautiful and naturally it attracts beautiful girls. well he had a real hottie in it and pulls up to me at a light. so i did some true DSM thinkin and i go 'you wanna get your ass handed to ya?' he said bring it and i go 'nathan i could beat you in a car like that' and i pointed across his car into a random parking lot and right as he looks over the light turns green and i rape his supra to the next light. even tho i cheated the girl laughed her ass off at him.

2. my first car was a 90 eclipse. one day im driving with my girlfriend we'd been together about a year and we were going to her house. theres a road that has a T section and huge poofy bushes if you were to go straight. well i was trying to get her to tell me somehting and i said 'either tell more or ill drive straight into those bushes' she of course didnt believe me and i of course wasnt really going to do it. well she didnt tell em so i kept pretending i was and i got about half way across the T and cut the wheel hard. apparently some smart ass city workers thought it would be fun to put sand on that part of the road. and my car became a nice christmas tree ornament for those green bushes.

3. a fellow in an audi asked to race me at a light i nkow little about those cars but it just looked fast so i denied. finally he talks me into it and i say ok. broke my pressure plate right in half at that light.

4. or how about shocking the piss out of myself 3 times before i realize i was hooking my amp up backwards at a car club meeting

I was at the crawfish festival in Old Town Spring in Texas with some friends. We had a pretty good buzz but decided that was'nt enough. So A friend and I went to the car and slammed a 12er within like 5 min. It did'nt have enough time to hit me hard yet, but as we were walking back to to the fest there were these two chicks walkin towards us. I walked right up to them, open my mouth to lay down some lines and before I could spit out a word I and I was within like 3 or 4 ft of them. My friend and I almost choked laughing. That poor chick must have been shattered, I looked and puked.

A few years ago I had a 95 Cavi Z24. One day my wheel bearing went out so I to it to the shop to get it fixed. I got it back and the next day I was leaving my house with my gf and about a half mile down and I hear clunk, clunk, clunk and the car started to slow down. So I stop and get out to check what happened. Well, when the guy fixed the bearing he forgot to tighten down the brake caliper and it came off and was stuck between the rotor and the rim. I ended up having to drive home in reverse with my gf laughing all the way!

It's been up for a long time and I doubt the mods care enough to change it over to the pits.

understandable..

my most embarassing moment is probably when I was a freshman and during the football season we were playing a big school and well I play strong safety and the qb threw the ball at a cutting receiver and it bounced off his chest straight up in the air .. just floating.. right into my arms... or should i say... through my arms.. it was like someone lobbed it up about 10 feet in the air for me to catch it softly .. probably easiest ball to catch ever imo.. this in front of a big crowd.. my whole school saw.

Hmmmm

Well not really bad but allmost ...was daydreaming at a light with the shifter way out of position in N...when light hits green i engage R and hit it...thank god the guy behind me was at least 6 feet away....i was soo shaky after =P

Oh yah and after royally spanking my friends Audi on the freeway, i park it...turn it back on and hello spun bearing.....grrrr grrr....i was so mad i just drove it to the shop (can you say Clunk clunk?? i can) ...knowing it was bad for it but was soo mad i just wanted to chuck it in the trash and replace with a new one ....

oh that and dumping half a quart of oil, forget you did it and while you are driving on the FW have it start smoking like you did something to your engine....not good lol

Just think. In 10 days, this post will be 2 years old and it's still on the front page. That's gotta be some kind of record.

I used to have this Honda civic hatchback. I fixed it up real nice. Yah, I thought I was the bomb with that baby. It was a little older model, but I had fixed it up so nice!! Anyway, I was trying to show off in front of my girlfriend, now wife to be, and I put on the emergency break, revved the engine, and popped the clutch, and popped my axle. Whoops. Yah, it was pretty bad. Anyways, that's it.

i dunno if i posted this but...

when i 1st got my car, i was at 711 and saw a bunch of people i knew and they were commenting on how nice it was. it was a little wet out, so when i was leaving i planned on doing a huge burnout...

i was so excited that i left it in reverse, and SMASHED into the car behind me... in front of everyone. i was SO fucking embarrased.

worst part is, theres usually people hanging out right where i smashed... thank god they were all in front of the store, or i would have killed a few people...

i still get sick to my stomach thinking that i could have killed someone...

i have an embarrasing moment but it isn't one of the top ones. Well my friend and i were hanging out at work waiting to get off. And it's snowing mind you, so we're talking about driving outside and stuff, drifting and what not. So as he's talking about this i remembered how he tried this one turn that was located in the parking lot, it's a perfect 90. As he approached it, he pulled the E-Brake (He has a 1995 Saturn SC2, it's pretty bad-ass actually) well as he pulled it he hit a curb like right in front of the turn, he didn't even turn, just went straight. So as we got off work i told him i could do it, so i tried it, revved it up thinkin i was bad ass and stuff, well i get it goin, i go on the first turn pull the e-brake, not too bad i ran through it, now the 90 degree turn thing he couldn't do i tried it, i went straight right into a snow bank, not only did i go into it, i mounted it with just my front wheels. I was like 3-4 feet above the ground on this snow bank thing. So as i hope to god that i just put it in reverse and get off, i see him in the corner laughin his ass off, and my other co-workers laughing too... that was a crappy night..

I guess I'll post one of my own. When I was 16 I had a 79 Z28 Camaro. Well I was leaving school one day, my little bro was riding with me. We managed to get ahead of most the traffic including the 10 or so school buses that was going our way. Anyway I turned off the road the school is own, it was a little wet and I was thinking lets spin some tires. So halfway through the turn I hit it and did an instant 180 facing the way I just came in the same lane, I was like shit! The buses weren't far behind me, so I throw it in reverse and spun it around, throw it back in drive and floored it, this time I was going straight, although I fishtailed a little. Just as soon as I got going the a bus full of high school students turned on the road right behind me. Thank god I got it going straight before they got there or it would have really sucked lol.

driving my first car (81' chevy citation, hahahah) went to meet my friend's/fellow workers at the school, teacher/boss didn't show, so we all took off out of there and headed back to one of the friend's houses.. there is this really fun corner on the way out from the school.. good smooth 90degree right hander. anyway, roads were wet.. i didn't make the corner and ended up in the blackberry bushes on the other side.. threw her in reverse and pealed out there, with black berry vines stuck to my car.. haha.
I was listening to metallica and it happened RIGHT when he said "take the corner.. going to crash!!!" hahaha.

EDIT:.. holy crap.. this post is two years old!!

Hmmm, lets see, I was out taking pictures with some friends, and we decided to go back to one of thier houses to check them out. Well, my best friend and I took a different route back. He has a 03' eclipse GS. I was in my stock 97' eclipse RS. We were goofing off, and I was ahead of him, I was coming up on this truck that was doing like 30 - 35 mph, so I go to pass him. Well, I didn't notice that when I was going into the other lane, so was my friend. As a reflex I hit my brake trying to go back into the other lane, then i notice it's too late, I was already beside the truck. The truck hits it's brakes. I hit the gas again. About that time I seen my friend flying off the side of the road into a ditch. Heh, then the guys in the truck called the police saying that two sports cars were racing... Police came, asked us alot of questions, we denied racing, and they let us go. I got out without anything, but it sucked that I basically ran him off the road. Ended up messing up his front bumper, front axle, and his rear bumper was messed up when a tractor pulled him out :S. Yeah, we live in Arkanas... I hate it here, I want to go back to CA.

Another would be borrowing your bro's 2GNT and dropping the cherry from your cigarette onto his seat, nearly setting your balls on fire and leaving a physical hole in the seat, as opposed to the typical burn mark.

How about everytime you are showing your car to another tuner/enthusiast and they are like "pretty nice car, oh.... its an automatic" . Then I have to explain my stupid reasons to them. I just got out of an '88 Civic and liked the Eclipse so much I didn't care whether it was auto or manual. Wish now I would have thought it through. Oh well, work w/ what you got right?

I didn't have an embarrassing moment with my DSM until last night. That's why I didn't post. But here are a few in a couple different cars. (Long live this post, I'm sure I'll be adding to it again soon!)

1987 Monte Carlo LS- I was cruising around my old high school when school was letting out, and I hit a pothole. I then stopped. My hubcap did not. I retrieved it off some ladys front lawn with about 50 people laughing their asses off at me.

1984 S-10 Blazer with a 350- After not listening to my parents and buying this beast, I worked on it for months just to get it running. I finally get it to where it actually ran for more then 3 days without breaking something. So I take dad for a ride. I came across a Trans Am LS1 at a red light. We exchange glances and its on. I shift into first (it was an auto) and bury the pedal when the light changes. Goodbye Mr. LS1!!! When I went to turn around, I also noticed that at someplace during the course of the race, I also said Goodbye to Mr. Rearend! I was at 3K rpms doing 5mph until it finally came to rest. That sucked. My dad was right. I didn't hear the end of it for quite some time after that.

Last one, happened last night

1997 Talon ESi-T- After talking shit to my friend with an RSX type-S for a week, we race twice at a local eighth mile track. He beat me twice. I'm gonna go shoot myself. This one hurts real bad.

1997 Eagle Talon ESi

Pretty kick ass huh?

EDIT:
I guess I could actually add one this time around too!

It was a few weeks back when az2gnt met with the local DSM board down by ASU. Everyone was all ripping in and out and demonstrating how big their dicks were (relative to the volume of their BOVs) and when we 2GNTers left, it was run4cvr (HRC Stage 2 FMIC @ 10lbs), taloniized (Star Stage 3 FMIC @ 10lbs), Uberingram (SRT4 FMIC @ 15lbs) and then me and Daisy on an empty tank at 450 miles. They all took off and all I could do was just wind er up to 7krpm through first and second. After getting gas and finally catching up with most of the group at run4cvr's place (az2gnt central imo), our good buddy with a 3 cylinder GSX tells me that the rest of the DSM crew had a good laugh at how my car sounded like a Honda. This got me several looks from everyone else there. "You didn't do that did you?" LOL! Yup. So I played it off on the local DSM board that I did it to make them laugh. (Nice spin imo)

wow, this thread has been going for 2 and a half years, maybe it will get to 3. But an embarrising moment I had was when I had my 98 mustang V6. Me and this one guy from my school wanted to race to see if his little hatch back civic could beat my mustang. So we go to a stop light, and my mustang was an automatic so anyway it was a pretty steep hill, and i was power braking, getting ready to launch, and the light turned green and i launch, and i hear a loud metal sound in the rear, I ended up breaking my axle on the hill from the torque.

Now I have my talon with a 5spd, so much quicker and nicer. But the only emabarrising moment i have had with my talon is when I was at my girlfriends house i left my car running outside for a while, and we came back out and got in started to drive away and I noticed the temp was really high, and smoke coming out of the exhaust, so we went to a parking lot to let it cool down, parking lot was fun but i found out my head gasket blew.

LONG LIVE THIS THREAD!!!!

i'm going to post becuase i just joined 2gnt.com and haven't made any posts yet. and because i've been reading this for like an hour! starting from the very top.i prolly have about a katripplebazillion embrassing momments but here goes a couple:

riding with 4 friends(that ain't easy-4 passengers in a freakin eclipse) going 35 through unknown neighborhood at night. anyway hit a HUGE dip and about knocked myself out hitting my roof.

going into my neighborhood on icy road spinning wheels at 110 mph(the car was only going around 10 mph-on purpose-being cool with friend). at the end there's a T intersection and i couldn't slow down in time. long story short - after backing up out of the lawn over a curb, i ran out and picked up as many pieces that was once my front bumper and bumper lenses as i could, through them in the car and drove home. the next morning i seen the owners of the house looking at their lawn with huge tire tracks and black pieces of my car in the snow. HAHA

racing my friend with his used RSX type S which he tends to flaunt oh so much....

so anyways I decide to humor him.
we roll up to a light...and Im thinkin "Hes going to take me...but Im not giving up..."
Light turns green, I launch not too bad...and I realize he isnt even near me...

Turns out, he left his car in fourth after rolling to a stop and dropped the clutch...and stalled. The girls in the galant next to him were laughing and pointing....priceless.

build what you want.

My most embarrasing moment had to be on my way to school one morning. The day before I had removed the battery from the bay to paint the engine. Since my car is a 4G64 it has the computer attached to the intake. The computer runs a wire to the battery wiring and has to have metal to metal contact to suck in air. I never bothered to tighten the harnesses onto the battery the night before. So I came up to a red light to bank left towards the school, the car died right there in the middle of the intersection. The metal piece that touches the battery was disconnected. So while I was holding up all sides of traffic, I had to get out pop the hood and tighten the battery. The car started, right away, but I ended up doing all this in front of my school and got teased about it for months.

ok i was driving my grandpas s-10 5 speed (he was in the passenger seat). we were on the way to his house and we came up to a major intersection, red lights, turn signals, the whole bit...well by the time the light finally decides to turn green there are about 15-20 cars behind me...btw this was my first day on a 5 speed....i try to turn, and the truck dies....try again and it dies...i tried several times to get the truck out of that intersection and couldnt...so i was in the middle of the intersection when the light turned...so i am thinkin "great! now im not only holding up the ppl beside me but im holding up everyone"...my grandpa and i got out, switched seats, and he drove the rest of the way...man that was so embarassing...

This really is'nt my embarrasment moment but someone elses, so here goes.

I'm on my way to work one day about a year and half ago(mind you this was in my last car- a 1984 Olds firenza) and I stop at a redlight with a car ahead of me. A guy pulls up next to me in a beat up 1g and starts revving. I really did'nt know what to think being as i'm driving an old lady car, and theres a minivan in front of him as well. The whole time he's staring at me revving and finnally the light turns green and he luanches and plows into the minivan in front of him. I have absoluetly no idea what this guy was trying to prove but it made me laugh uncontrolably the rest of the day whenever I thought about it and it still makes me laugh.

January 11th we will all have to celebrate this thread's two year anniversary. How often does this thread get mentioned in conversation where you live? It pops up here in Phoenix every so often. LOL. How embarassing is that? I guess I could say I'm embarassed that my fully built bottom end didn't last 14 months before it blew up. Meh.

well shit...i gotta add mine..and a few for some of my friends

my 2

first one was when i was 16. i was 16, and just met this girl. well we are at the local ag barn cuz there are some livestock shows goin on. it had just rained, muddy as hell, water everywhere. well navigating the parking lot sux, so i got the bright idea that i was gonna be smart/cool and just cut it through the drainage ditch (wasnt that deep) and go on. wrong! burried it up to the frame rails.

2nd was when i was 18 and just kinda met my current g/f. we were on a deserted road (paved) and asked if she had ever been over 100. she said no, so i was gonna break her in. well...about a week earlier i had my shifter cut and a friend weld it. well...i ground down the weld a bit too much. i slamed the gears in a 2-3 shift..and snapped the weld clean off. so uhh...i drove home trying to shift with like 1" of shifter.

now onto some friends

my buddy is about the world worst driver. and he was seeing this girl, and her parents were complaining the previous night about how bad he was...and we all along with his g/f tried to convince them otherwise. well, the next evening at church, everyone is leaving. he hops in his truck..waves, throws it in reverse...and floors it. right into the back of her parents pickup truck..knocking it halfway up on the curb.

this one was just plain funny

january me and a buddy made a quick run to NM to go boarding. well, he is driving in my parents SUV, and we decide to coast into arbys. well, it was a last minute deal...and there are tons of cars comming in the other lane, so he whips it over and we end up heading in the "out" driveway of arby's. he realizes this, cuts it over, and we drive down the sidewalk/grass for about 25 feet to the "in" drive. we were both laughing so hard...they just kinda looked at us when we walked in.

AWESOME! I just read this entire thread. it is quite amazing. I am at work so I almost got in trouble for laughing out loud at some of the posts. I don't really have too many embarrassment moments. I guess one would be... I pulled up to a stop light with my girlfriend in the car. I was fairly new driver (1-2 months) and had never really street raced before. Well a 96 celica pulls next to me and starts revving his engine and wanting to race. Well, the sun was right in my eyes so i am like squinting to see the light and was still wondering if I should or not. The light turns green and he takes off, i drop the clutch in at 2k and my car just gasps and doesn't have any power. i then proceed to shift into 2nd at 4k and actually start to catch up... i felt like such an idiot... Later on I found out that he is a complete idiot and thought he had turbo on his car because it made a constant "pfff" high pitched sound. oh well. LONG LIVE THIS POST!

I'll keep this thread alive- not an embarassing moment for me - but a friend of mine. He was at the track and overshot the staging lines. So he backed up and staged correctly. Lights turned green, he floored it- Unfortunately, he left the car in reverse (forgot to put the car in drive- auto tranny). He shot back, braked, threw it in drive, then ran a 23.2 in a galant

this goes back to 2002 when i first got the car...(sorry for it being so long)

how about following your roomate whos in a 1999 v6 mustang, me in the 97 rs, go onto the highway during rushhour. i manage to get over to the fast line and floor it...right as he switches to the same lane not seeing me...so i slam on my brake, the back ends starts to slide, so i try to correct, end up overcorrecting and the same thing happens. so now my car is completly out of control on the highway, doing like 70-75, end up fishtailing out, scrape my rear bumper on the concrete divider, and finally come to a stop...facing the WRONG WAY! somehow everyone saw this and knew enough to stop, so thankfully no one hit me, but now 5 lanes of traffic are stopped, people are beeping and flipping me off as i try and turn around in the middle of the highway!

then of couse some guy calls the police saying that we were playing cat and dog or some shit, and follows us all the way down the highway into my town to make sure the cops find us. sure enough i hear sirens, take off down a side street as my friend is being pulled over, try to go where they wouldnt find me, but as i turn into another side street, there is two cops right there waiting for me, and then right after 3 more come as well. all the cop did is ask questions and said the state police would be in touch, which they never did. my friend on the other hand got pulled over by a staty, who made him walk out with his hands above his head, and put him in handcuffs! so then his moms friend drives by, sees this, and immediatly calls his mom! she of course was freaking out...needless to say a good time was had by all (oh and i still have the scrape in my bumper from 2 and half years ago, lol)

well, this just happened like 1 month ago. it was right after school, and i was surrounded by people that i knew, and i was in the middle of traffic at a red light, so i figure ill show off. so i pull up the e-brake, put it in 1st, floor it, and pop the clutch (i have done this before). i had old tires on, and new ones in the mail, so i figure that ill go a little longer than normal. so i got a 1-car raduis all around me smoked out, and i was just about to push in the clutch and get out of it, and BANG! (i bet you didnt see that coming) i poped a tire in the middle of an intersection, and nowear to go (cars all around me) so i had to be like a total jackass and cut a couple people off to get to the side of the road. story goes on...put spare on, drove it for a week, put new tires on at school, and parents never found out (they dont notice cars, lol). so hey, keepin this tread alive, and puttin in my 2cents.

I dont remember if I added one or not, but this just happened the other day.

I made a few passes downtown where a lot of drivers hang out to see where everyone was and lookin for popo since I dont have a radar detector just yet. The normal place to hang out is in the Burger King parking lot since its HUGE. Looked like there was a damn car show going on, prolly like 30 cars or so. I drove by with the turbo spoolin which caught their attention, then let the BOV go, which make every head spin to look... not a big deal, everyone does it. On my way back, I was sitting at the light before BK and decided to really get on it and spin the tires going in gear (no LSD) just to catch their attention again because I felt like it. I romped on it, just as I got to the parking lot, I was spiking 15psi, and I tend to blow off my ic pipes when I spike 15 so I let off. Just as I let off, right in front of everyone, this black civic SI came bombing past me. He got caught up at the next light as I rolled up next to him, revving his engine as if to take off again and show off. My friend Nexteled me from the BK parking lot saying there was a cop that banged a Uie and was comming after me, I was doing prolly like 60, but I dont know since my speedo dosnt work. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw the blue lights, and figured I'm toast... As I begin going at the green light, the cop pulls out from behind me and gets behind the civic and pulls him over. I made a mad dash banging a Uie, so the cop wouldnt bag me as well, back towards BK and when everyone saw me, I honked and some people yelled, since they all thought it was me the cop was gonna tag. I pulled into a dunkin donuts further up the road to relax, I was kinda freaking out. 20 minutes later, that civic SI pulled into the parking lot and came up to my window. I was thinking oh wonderful, here comes the drama... He was surprised to see a girl driving, I could tell by the expression on his face when I rolled the window down. He told me that the cops were out looking for me now... I laughed and said sure they can look all they want, but if I obey the traffic laws, they cannot pull me over without justification, i.e. they cant pull me over for something I did 20 minutes ago. The kid got pissed off and walked away then sped off. Nevertheless I called it a night and went home.

That wasnt really embarassing, more funny, but when I nearly got home, I was kind of racing a Saturn and then I blew off the IC pipes.

Oh man so many......I have a couple (LONG)

One moment would have to be right after i bought my eclipse. I was 17 and finally bought my first car. Well my friends came over to check it out. Then we all decided to leave to go out and mess around. Anyways i get in my car all excited, i couldnt wait to show it off to my friends...i put it in reverse and BAM. i get out and...i hit my parents car. They come running outside, and got pissed at my infront of my friends. I told them to shutup, and they shouldnt have parked their car behind mine ( or something like that i dunno it was stupid) and i went inside... :/

Another moment was when i was learning how to drive stick...oh my god. I was about 16 in a small town of 1000 people in Kansas. Me and my stepmom are on the main street driving infront of all the police officers and firefighters. Well they are all outside staring at me because i keep killing the car down the street. Anyways i finally make it to them and it dies...so i start her up and i keep peeling out and lurching forward, then my step-mom says " give it some gas and keep on it so you dont stall out". Well i tried and end up ramming over this HUGE median, and landing on the other side...my step mom gets out and i give up right infront of the cops...Oh bent all 4 rims and blew a tire.

Ok ONE more sorry for being so long.
Me and my friends were in my buddies car, just messing around outside a HS football game. Well we were acting like jackasses blaring Andrew WK just to be stupid. We were all headbanging and i guess my buddy Merit lost track of where he was on the road....we hit 4 parked cars lmfao...Everyone from the game ran over to us...i got out and said immediately to the police officer the steering wheel got stuck.....well he found some wheel bearings and beleive us..but omg was very embarrassing.

Wow 1.5 hours later ill add my 2 favs in....

1st: I was a junior in HS after having my license for 2 weeks, Im in my Hand Me Down 1989 240sx. I parked on the street infront of the school like the rest of the juniors, and it has a junction road to the left that leads to an apartment complex. After the side road it bends to the right so you really cant see if a car is coming. Most people do a 3 point turn around in there to head back to the main road. Well me and my nievish senses are convinced the 240 with its rearwheel drive and make a sweet Uie infront of all the people walking to their cars. I have my best friend in the passenger seat and peel out and start the turn....BAM! I get T-Boned by my friend and his brother in their 94 F-150 Battering Ram. My car spun 120* and jumped the curb... He hit right behind my rear wheels. Luckily no one was hurt... EVERY SINGLE PERSON saw it, and i had about 200 people making a circle around my car as i flipped shit and spazzed.....

my 2nd fav was when my sister was driving me somewhere in the 240(it use to be hers). We were coasting down the main road in Baltimore County, York Road, and this guy in a z28 camero pulls up next to us and gives me a dirty look. Maybe he thought my sister was my girlfriend and i was a pussy for making her drive. We start to slow down due to a red light when...BOOM! The camero goes right under a Silverado stoped at the light. His hood was a good 2 feet under it...my sister winked at him and we both laughed aas the light turned green...

Great Thread Keep it going!

how's about screwin around drivin w/a friend in the car and having fun because i was on practically bald tires and thinking the power steering was going so i wasn't concerned when it was just my recalled ball joint falling apart and making my car stop as i turned into the lot at my school. Didn't have a clue what it was and the car wouldn't move. $750 later i looked like an even bigger tard. 6 mo's later i was smilin b/c i got a letter in the mail from mitsu about the recall and while i was at school my mom continued to bitch them out until they paid up.

also hit some trash cans in front of my brother and a couple friends when trying to move his car when i was about 14 (it was stick i was nervous)

one of my brothers: rear ending my father at a light b/c he fell asleep at the wheel...results fucked up front end.. o well it was a saturn and i finished it off about a month later

2 hours or so later i would like to add my story.

Since I just got my "slightly used" talon I invited my friends to check out the car and take some pics of it and my old 93 eclipse. I am donating the eclipse since I have no space to store it. So I was bragging about how good the eclipse was (between my friends and me there are ton of memories we have form the eclipse) and how if I had space I would keep it and fix it up especially since motor runs farley well. The eclipse was parked on a slope and I didn't drive it for a week or so. I start it and with out worming it up (which I always do) attempt to move it and it dies on me ... there goes all my bragging ... made for some good laughs ... I have to redeem my self after it wormed up a little it didn't give any problems.

well I may as well throw mine on here

Picture if you will a building about 30 yerds off the road with a parking lot and entrance that is the width of the face of the building. It was winter, I was driving my old ass 92 Hyundai Excel (with tires that needed some help) parking lot looks dry (it's February 2001 and it's Black Ice). I pull in at about 15-20 mph slowing down while using my brakes. well all of a sudden the brakes lock up and I slide all the way into the building. Glass from and bricks from the building every where. So I throw her in reverse and back out of the mess. Hop out to inspect the damage- I pushed my front bumpercover back about an inch but took out half the front of the building. well a bunch of guys I knew were near by working at the Pizza joint and they still hassle me about it to this day.

Guess it's my turn. Now I'm not good at telling stories, so just try to imagine this happening. Ok it's my first time at the track, I turn the tires over a little bit pull up and wait for the guy to give us the go ahead to stage. He motions us up, so I pull up fairly quickly, get the car staged without any difficulty, BUT THEN next thing I know the guy is telling me to back up. I couldn't figure it out until I looked BACK at the starting line. I had staged with my rear wheels, DOH! Everybody in the crowd was rolling, boy did I ever feel like a moron.

Got my first eclipse when I was living in NC. Was out on the HW checking it out see how it drives etc... I am trigger happy as it is so if you ride my ass or rev at me I dont care we are running it win or lose cause Im like that.

So I look in rear view and theres a greyish mustang up my ass and then starts to pass me and I freak I nail it and proceed to rock up the HW when the mustang hits the lights and I find out that the SHP down there has some not so obvious cars in the line up (DOH)!

I did manage to get out of the ticket by telling the lady trooper how I was impressed with her ride she gave me a warning and I went home.

Guess its my time to step up to the plate and keep the thread alive. I was 18 and I was driving with my friend sean to a party. As I start to turn right onto the street the party is on my face is already facing right but the car is facing forward. Not even half way into the turn going about 10-15mph a bum on a bike is crossing the street I am turning onto and he hits the front of my car dead on. The bum and the bike come flying up onto my hood and the car comes to a stop. The bum is still half on his bike, the bike and the bum are spread accross my hood, and the bum's face is smushed up against the passenger side of the windsheild. The bum quickly looks up and see's my 300lb 6'2 friend 6 inches from him staring back through the windshield. He freaks out and quickly removes himself from the hood and apologies profusely. I ended up with a small dent and scratch on my hood and everyone at the party coming up to me during the night going "how did you hit a bum on a bike??"

Ah I guess. Well I just got the car and was stupid back then. I was out driving and found a riced out neon, and I thought to myself, 420a WAR! Well we went around town swerving back and forth for a while, being dumb. Got to a light, reved and took off. I pulled ahead and a little later he backed off really fast while I went a little more when I noticed I was going 90. Well, about 1/4 second later I see lights in the ditch and a cop pulls behind me. I got a ticket for 40mph over, lost my license for 7 months, and have been on SR22 insurance since then. I learned my lesson and never even come close to speeding anymore, I am scared to. In fact I rarely drive my car anymore, I just work on it. Word of advice, never ever street race.

Yea, the only "good" thing about it is at the time Iowa had very cheap speeding tickets so it only ended up costing me $121. But the SR22, well thats completely different.

I actually started to read these posts one for one from the top. Pretty funny stuff. Anyhow I read maybe 35 embarassing moments before I decided that this was taking too much time of my life away, haha. Some of these stories are from 4 years ago that probably happened 3 years before that. The people that told them have probably forgotten the event ever happened and had 5 more incredibly embarrasing moments since. I can't think of any stand out embarassing moments in the 2gnt or any vehicle for that matter, but for embarasing moments sake one night I was out on my back porch on a fine summer night with a few friends, my gf, and my gf's 3yr old daughter. Anyhow destiny(my gfs daughter) was getting cranky so I decided to jump in the pool in attempt to get her to quiet down and swim. I started to run towards the pool to jump in and tripped on a step-up part of my deck(the deck is built around the pool). I barely cleared the pool sides and I think I hit my head on the bottom pretty hard. I was like WOA THAT SUCKED. I wanted to laugh because I knew it was hillarious, but it was me that did it so I played it off the best I could while being incredibly embarassed.

I have a few

1) Driving with my stereo real loud. some a-hole is tail-gating me I speed up he is still on my ass I hit 100 still on my ass give him the bird and waive him to pass.

Well cops don’t like to be flipped off and told to pass on the freeway going 100. Lights come on and he fly’s right past me (weird) Turing a bend I see a lot of lights. I think oh crap he thinks im running so I pull behind him and pull myself over (yep im a idiot)he was responding on a dui this is what he tells me "I was just telling you to slow down but since I got ya let me see your license and registration"

He was yelling over his pa on the freeway and I didn’t hear him my stereo was too loud no ticket just a warning but it sucked.

2) Ok this is a good one a few years ago I was on a TV show for MTV (no joke) it was called Fraternity life 2 Santa Cruz. This hot chick a friend of a friend wanted to go to the cast house and drink with me in her words "shot for shot" Im 190 half Irish and half Sicilian I can drink, she is 100 pound cheerleader. (See where this is going) we drink kinda alot about 7-8 shots. Im fine she wants to go in the hot tub. Her drunk ass walks into the bathroom and one of our pledges is there pissing. She takes all of her clothes off walks into the room and shows us the naked splits. She is so drunk she is stuck on the floor in the splits. Only one of the camera guys are filming this, 3 secs later every camera guy in the house is running over to the hot tub deck to get a shot. It didn’t make the show she was a month shy of 21 so they couldn’t show underage drinking. Damn I wish I had a picture of her face the next day when I told her every detail of the night classic good times.

this is a good thread lets bring it back that was just part of my senior year got another 4 years of school i can tell you about

well to keep this alive, it wasn't that bad but...
I went out with my friends to a bar/bowling alley, when we came out a couple hours later we get in the car and I go to start it and nothing happens. I immediately realized I left the lights on. It was fairly well lit where I parked and b/c of my turbo timer, my little buzzer didn't go off when I took the keys out and opened the door, not that it does all the time when it's supposed to anyways. I had to go back into the place and get another one of my friends to come out and jump the car for me. It wasn't that bad, but I felt like a tool, b/c out of all my friends, I'm the one into cars so they probably would expect that least out of me.

Let me shoot a recent one out there (since this is a never ending thread ).

Getting ready to run E-Town. The day before I pulled the tranny and put in my LSD. Got the tranny back in and all set to fire up that evening. Tried to hook up the battery but it kept sparking back at me. I must have crossed or split some wires somewhere. Spent the next 2 hours search and tracing and finding nothing (But I did tear my car apart). Said F**K it and put everything back together and loaded up the car on the trailer anyway (taking a shot that I would fix it in the parking lot of the hotel). When I got up in the morning at the hotel, I just popped the hood and looked into the engine bay and thought about how the battery was acting like it reversed polarity........Mother F****r!

Yup, the battery I was using was a smaller battery from an Integra. I originally had to install the battery backwards so the poles were in the correct spots. I had hoooked the battery up backwards! . Hence the reverse polarity, duh! Gee, she fired right up when I fixed that (and changed out the alternator fuse).

lol I know i'm going to be laughed at for this one.

During the summer i was going out to go to the lehigh valley mall before going to sheetz. I opened the moonroof, and opened my window. Tried to open the passenger side window, wtf? It doesn't go down, try putting driver side window up, this one too? I said great now I need a new window regulator. Met up with my friends and we tried to fix it, nothing. Went to the mall, went as far as parking 1 inch away from my friend so no one could get inside the car b/c none of the windows would go up. When we got back to the parking lot I try fixing it again.

Maybe the fact that i turned the window lock button on would have explained why my windows wouldn't go up or down.

Had to kick myself in the ass for that one.

Mine would be when I went through the garage door.

I back up onto my driveway and stopped about a good foot and a half away from the garage. Went inside and got into a fight with my X-next-door neighbor. So anyway The dispute goes outside until I decided I've had enough and had to go let out some steam. I figure I’d peel out give him the finger and be on my way.
Well I ended up peeling out right backward into and through the garage door. I forgot I left the car in reverse when I was in a hurry to get inside earlier. Man that sucked lol.

Wow just saw this thread and read through it all. Not sure how I found it. I have 2 things to add

A while ago I had a shitty sentra limmited edition, it was a junky car but worked most of the time. I was out with my girl friend driving at arround 2 am after a party in a remote road, the car just suddenly stops in the middle of no where and we had to sit there the whole night. This mexican farmer guy in and old truck helped jump start my car arround 7am when he saw us sitting there.

Just recently I was still learing to drive with AWD in my new STI and I took a very sharp 90 turn on to an on ramp after passing a bunch of people... next thing I know my car is sideways and I over correct throwing my car sideways again with the other side facing... ended up just stalling it with 6 cars behind me, it was great.

After reading 2 hours of this insanely long post it reminded me of one when i was 16. Some girl had called me and wanted me to drive down someday soon so me and a friend decided we would make a night of it, so we got up early changed the oil, flushed coolant and checked all the other fluids and put some air in the tires filled up gas and off we went. We turn onto the highway and decide that we should get to her school before its out and suprise her. Considering that its a good 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive away im thinking that i can make it there in 2 hours driving retarded, we weave through about 20-30 cars everyone looking at us like were crackheads and than some monte carlo starts racing with us. We'er in my new 91 laser and i thought it was so fast so i decided that these people werent gonna get away on us and stomp on it. I hit about 190 for about a min or 2 before i started slowing down realizing that my temp gauge had shot through the roof and i finally pull over car stalls and we get out to see damage. I blew oil out through the front and back of the engine, nice head gasket. so we decided to call my uncle with a flat deck and had to wait 3 hours so we got out of the car found a bottle of jd's in the trunk layed on the winshield and decided to work on ours tans. Cranked the tunes up to deciding who cares if i kill the battery, funny thing was about 25 mins later some people pull over and its my frineds gf who he told he had to work. boy did he get it right on the side of the highway, i think everyone that drove by honked as he ran away from her beating him. Wow after that i learnt my lesson on speeding.

This thread seems so old, but i dont care haha. One day i went out for lunch with this girl(my old gf, her bf was in another provence so we went out haha) well my neon decided it didnt like her in my car, after leaving subway my car wouldnt start. Finally after pumping the gas at the precise time and keeping the pettle pushed a bit i got going. so when i got the the light and it was red guess what happened. it stalled again. started it up, than stalled again lol.... man was i embarased. i had to put it in park start it, keep my foot on the break and gas until it turned green than shift it into drive(my transmition didnt like that) so i started back to school, not pushing it to hard, and the car dies, and wouldnt start at all. so i called my friend he picked up the girl and than i called a tow truck.

lol Might as well keep it going...yet even longer.

I have another 2 new stories since I got the GST.

First day I bought it (first time ever driving stick) I was driving around town and I pulled to this light by the Burger King some hot chicks are honking at me and my friend in the car and waving at us. Light turns green, I stall, lol, ok put it in gear try not to look at anyone and I stall again LMAO...I guess you can't start out in 3rd gear.

Stalled again driving through town, had to stop b/c some truck was unloading in the middle of the street, he waved at me to go and I stall right in front of the guy, he looks at me and laughs and I just keep chugging ahead lol.

Here is one, that isnt to bad, but sucked non the less. When i first got my neon, i decided to put a small sound system in it, i had a 12 inch sub in the back(it was in a box seatbelted in because it was the day i installed it and liked to show it off. So i was driving around town, system playing about half volume with the amp set to push the sub as hard as it could. So my friend pulls up to me in a parkinglot i was at and blasts his system. I put mine to the max(alot of people around) and blow my sub. everyone laughed, and i got a cool looking oversized magnet.

LOlers, hahahah that is PRETTY bad Well, this past friday a couple of things went wrong. I was invited to a beach party, I get on the freeway, ready to hit the sand, abouthalf way there I hear a loud "POP!" then some clanking and griding under my car then another loud pop. Im like "OH SHIT, WHAT NOW LORD?!" I look in my side and rear view mirror and I see something red and chrome bouncing around in the middle of the lanes... IT WAS MY FUCKING AIR FILTER! I actually laughed at myself, and took the nearest exit, to get back on the other side of the freeway and get home ASAP. As I am driving home I noticed a lil more "umph" and a more agressive sound, that filter needed replacing for sure! I got home and put on the stock box in like 2min, and headed back out to the beach. Good times good times

So I'll take a chance bumping - I got a story or two to share

First one is while I was "experimenting" with my 71 Chevelle - which i fuel injected a +30 SBC 350 and was runnin a 700R4. I hooked up a Holset WHX-35 set to 12 psi, no intercooler, just to see how it would hold up. I made my own log manifold styled after our Grand National, and set out one night from my shop where I threw everything on it. I tried a dead stop WOT, and it just lugged and didn't even break the tires loose. I was kinda pissed so I just took it down the street, where i got up around 40mph, dropped it into 2nd (rev limiter was set to 7000 rpm) and gunned it. The boost gauge read 1..2..5...12 in about 1 second, and the back end went squirrly almost putting me into the ditch. So at this point I'm all excited, so I take it a mile to a popular road, just to mess around. I turn and get 60ish on the highway, left-hand lane, where this civic is screwing with me. I'm like 'alright buddy...', and I floor it. Boost screams (no air filter, either, and DP exiting in front of front right tire), I take off like mad, hit like 100 and get the just-kicked-his-ass-rush, when I look into my rear-view to see how many lengths i got on him. I don't see any headlights, even though the highway was sort-of busy. Everyone was getting into the far right lane, and i couldn't see anyone behind me beause they were smoke-screened out! Turns out the seal had blown on the turbo (was sittin on a shelf a few months), and was dumping oil into the engine to the point that I couldn't see a car if it was 20 feet behind me. I exited at quick as I could and went back to the shop and took the thing off. To add insult to injury, I alomst blew the engine when I d/c my oil feed line to the the turbo, and forgot to plug the hole in the block. I fired it up and it ran about 5 seconds, the I heard a squeak-squeak, at which i shut it down. Got out and there's 5 qts of oil on the ground underneath my engine...

I'll help keep this going, its not a racing story but still embarrassing. I was taking the upper intake mani off to install my portfueler (note i am a tiny guy so i am on top of the engine) and my belt breaks and my pants fall down with me holding the intake mani trying to jump down off of the engine without killing myself.

Hows that, lol.

Every time my car belches oil smoke, I die a little inside. How bout blasting by a bus full of people in the wet on bald tires, trying to make a left, understeering over a curb, bending two rims and blowing two tires, barely missing a sign, the bus makes a left where you tried to, and you're in tears thinking your ride has body damage.

Thread never dies

I'm broke, it's broken. I'm broke because it's broken. It's broken because I'm broke.

wow! Just now read this thread....in its entirety....took at least an hour and a half - sheesh I should've gone to bed the first 10 mins I read this thread and thought "If I keep reading, I'm gonna be at this thing for like an hour..." lol....

ANYWAYS; nothing much cause my 4 speeding tickets have greatly restrained my lead-foot but I can offer this...
wait....actually I don't have any embarrassing moments besides the occasional stalling in a mall parking lot with the system blaring and windows down story....sorry guys, maybe after the turbo and MS are configured and I hit the streets again!

This makes me wonder what you're real embarrassing moment is. If you say there are none, that means that there is a big one out there....

Everything you just said makes logical sense. However I really don't have any embarrassing moments short of the aforementioned stalling-in-parking-lots multiple times. I'm sure I will once the turbo is spooling and I really start driving and challenging though....is it embarrassing to decline a race-invitation from an early-90's corvette when going highway speeds? I passed this corvette (convertible) doing 80 in a 60 so it seemed like I probably wanted to play and the driver sped right up beside me and looked over with that look in her eye but I knew my NA 140hp Talon had NO balls whatsoever - much less against a Corvette - so I signaled that I wasn't going to race and we went on our ways. That may be why I have no embarrassing moments actually - I know what my NA car is capable of and I don't act like it's bigger then it really is...

Figure I might as well post something. I'd say its when I broke my lower ball joint and in the process of limping it home at 2mph I got pulled over by 3 cops and my boss even stopped lol.

Haven't seen this thread in awhile, so I'll finally add something. Last spring, I was driving to work and saw a whisp of smoke drift out of my hood scoop while stopped at a light. It was a chilly morning, so I assume it is just little vapor condensing due to the hot engine bay (not that unusual). I catch some green lights and am cruising happily for about 10 minutes. Here and there I catch a whiff of something burning. "I bet it's that beat up Pontiac in front of me", I think. I slow down for some traffic and smell it a lot stronger. I had done some work to the engine that weekend, so I figure I am just burning off some stray WD-40. I cruise another 10 minutes and have to stop at a light right near my office. Within seconds, smoke is billowing out of my scoop, all around the hood, and the fenders. I keep staring straight ahead as the cars start to stack up left, right, and behind me. I am just praying for the light to turn green, so I can get out of there. It doesn't and I sit there. Every second, the smoke spreads further. As the cloud envelopes the adjacent cars, I change my strategy to avoid the open mouth stares of fellow commuters. I go with Plan B: slip through a gap in the lane next to me, into the open right turn lane, and pull into a grocery store parking lot. Still thinking that embarassment is the worst thing I will face today, I casually pop the hood without shutting the engine off. I quickly notice that my turbo and manifold is engulfed in flames. I jump through the window and shut the engine off. Not realizing what I am up against, I start slapping and blowing on the fire. That does nothing, so I run to the hatch and pull out a 1/2 gallon jug of water/antifreeze. I start splashing it on the flames, sparingly at first, to keep from cracking my manifold. Every flame I put out, comes right back. I just dump the water and cringe at the sound of creaking metal. I have just enough water to put the fire out. I sheepishly call my boss to pick me up. While waiting, I figure out that my turbo oil inlet was loose and soaked the miles of fiberglass header wrap (top mounted turbo on long tube manifold). My manifold was hotter than the flash point of the oil. It just kept re-igniting as I put it out. As my boss arrives, I tighten up the fitting and we head to the office. That night, at a gas station, two different people stop me to inform me of the smoke drifting out of my hood scoop. I casually explain that that is just leftover oil from the fire this morning. Neither knew quite how to respond.

In the spirit of keeping this thread alive....

Mine would be, coming home from work....car was overheating a bit, pulled in the driveway, shut the car off, got out, pulled the hood pins, then stopped and though "Don't touch anything idiot, wait for the car to cool down", set the hood pins around the post and went in the house.

20 minutes later, I forget what it was about, but I got a phone call and needed to go somewhere, got outside (hood was down), forgot all about pulling the pins out.

Got about 1/2 mile down the street, hit about 40mph going uphill and WHACK!!!

I only had the CF hood about 8 months at that point. Cracked it all to hell. I'm just thankful it didn't crack my windshield. But the hood is still on my car. Just doesn't look pretty. Haha

My first GS didnt have a title, no insurance, no inspection, no front bumper, a rear bumper held on with wood screws, and a pinhole leak that sprayed coolant on my turbo manifold. That being said the car only cost me $500, but the day i picked it up my friend ended up in the emergency room, so i rushed over with two other people in the car. I turn the corner to go to the hospital and there are six cops with a roadblock set up checking for drunk drivers, i made it through the roadblock some how, but the speed bump on the other side of it broke the back bumper off so im now dragging it down the road behind me in front of half a dozen cops. I made it to the hospital ripped off the bumper and threw it in the back of someones truck. I go to leave and the car wont start, the throttle cable somehow had current going through it and had shorted out and melted. I patched it up with a throttle adapter from a car quest 5 blocks away. I walked back through the roadblock with the car quest bag and one of the cops got curious and followed me back to my car to try and help me, after all that he helped me push start the car so i could leave. Wost day EVER

Why did i turbo a 420a? Why is your 4g63 smoking in a ditch?

New to the forum. Well, I had a 98 Ranger with a 3.0L V6 in it. I had rebuilt this truck from the ground up with my grandfather. One day, pulling into school, my temp hit the roof. Then, my oil pressure hit the floor. I was in the drive through portion of a middle school dropping off my sister, so I couldn't stop. I stop at a stop sign. Stalled. I'm muttering cuss words under my breath, but it still starts with a little gas pumping. I turn right and get stuck in traffic. As soon as I stop, it dies again. This time, it refuses to start. One of the linch ladies had to pull over and help me push the truck off the road. While that was happening, literally every single person that goes to my school passed me. I never lived this down. My engine had lost all coolant from a hole in the radiator. My pistons welded themselves still. Haha. This did however give me the opportunity to drop in a 5.0. But then my brakes failed and I hit a ditch. Love this thread by the way. Hahaha
