I'm pretty sure they're 160 HP right????

But they are 300 lbs. lighter. With CIA, catback, bored TB, UDP, final drive mod, and soem weight reduction, you go for it.

For the weight reduction, take out the spare, jack, back seats, and if you really want, then take the passanger seat out.

ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING: Many people don't realize it but a full tank is at least and extra 80lbs. Try to have your tank at no more than 1/4 and you will shave off an easy 75lbs. if he has a full tank.

I'd personally say probably the only way you'll win is stage 1. I've raced a few and they are fast as phuck.. I dont know much about em, but they are quick! Damn vtec!

The 2002 RSX Type-S Only dino's at 160hp. There not that fast, but our cars with basic bolt on's only dino near the 130 range. Get a stage one, and you'll kick his ass...

I have 2 friends that have RSX's. A type S and a Basic model. Both 5-speeds. The type S at the track put up a best time of 15.3 all stock. The basic model put up a 15.9 and that was with intake. I run a 15.9 w/o sqeezing, so we are not far off. A lot depends on the driver too. Oh yeah, with I-VTEC, the vtec is always working, it's not like the original vtec where it would kick in at a certain RPM.

He was talking about the base model not type S, Yes it does have vtec, I was signed on one, so I had all the research done (damn acura guy tried rippin me off, so i bought a 2gnt). They are by no means "fast" I have taken them, and I am still quite slow, intake/exhaust/and at the time jeep tb. People are very misinformed about the base model, it is not fast, not fast at all, dont be scared of it (That auto tranny is less parasitic than ours tho).

Speed Kills... Buy a Honda and live forever

I have driven both cars, well sorta (eclipse is rs). I drove an RSX auto when it first came out, it was quick, but not off the line. It has low torque, although you could feel when vtec kicks in! I'd suggest just to race him, you wont know til then. If you lose, you will know you need to do some work on your car...

i have an auto RS with 170,000 miles on it. and i cant take an RSX with it, and have done it before. just remeber its not so much the car as the driver. ask silvernt about that, he rode with me and found out what a STOCK eclipse can do with a good driver. just keep testing diff ideas for launches. try holding the brake and gas and rev it to about 1750, and once in the middle of it all...let off the gas and get right back on it really fast, ive noticed it sometimes kick it down a gear.
