Mine is the KDC-7009, but I know there's similar ones too.

Has anybody had problems with the buttons not working, and the display not coming on? I know there's some kind of contact point somewhere, and I guess over time it can get messed up. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

as a technician, I've seen it many times before. there is a ribbon cable that connects the face to the main board that fails from getting flexed so many times, it just breaks. any car stereo with this type of set-up will eventually fail from that, just the way it works. you'll need to take it to a kenwood servicer or if your local you can send it to me, I'm an authorized kenwood service center, send me a PM if you need. good luck

How much do you charge? I had this happen a while back and it would have cost me 100 bucks or so at a Kenwood Service Center here, luckily the guy owed me a favor. He also suggested to take the face off each time and not let it roll over to keep it from happening again, but geez that defeats the purpose of having the MASK.

Edit: it would seem that I could do it myself also. What is involved and what is the price for the part or parts? Can you sell the parts to do it?
