First off, my amp has been working fine for along time now. I went to hook up a second amp and ran into some problems, I cant figure out why. The second amp is just a smaller one to run my component speakers. Heres how I hooked it up:

I took the wire from the battery, ran it through a fused distribution block, then to each amp.

I ran the ground from the new amp to the existing amps ground place. Even tried grounding to a different spot but it made no difference.

Ran RCA's from output on first amp, to input on new amp.

Ran remote wire from first amp to the new amp.

Heres the problem: The new amp powers on, and both will run for a second then the first amp will lose power and shut off. The new amp is still running. There is a weird clicking coming through the speakers when this happens. First amp will run fine when new amp is not connected. What did I do wrong? Is it the RCA's? Any ideas?

maybe your remote wire doesnt supply enough current to keep both amps on. I ran into this problem with 2 amp and a digital audio processor. I just wired up a relay for the remote wire and all was good.

I know it might be a pain but give each amp its own supply/remote and each its own ground.Also make sure your using a heavy enough gauge to carry the supply needed sounds like what might be happening like pitchblack said.
