as for matierial, i would look into fatmat (http://www.fatmat.com/), or b-quiets brown bread (http://www.b-quiet.com/brownbread.html) for a cheaper alternative. both are great.

as well as the trunk, you might consider covering the transmision hump and firewall, as well as the outer and inner door skins. from my experience, the transmission hump and firewall are the most important in eliminating road noise. to cover all the areas i listed, you will need right around 100-125 sq. ft.

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

Sup guys.
I just did my ENTIRE CAR except both door and firewall (no time yet)
I did the ENTIRE car included roof, floor, trunk, rear sears, etc.
Trunk is all 3 layers, all interior are 2 layers. and I have fatmat, still have some left/saved for the both doors.

I got total of 200sqft.

I have to say... the improvement are INSANE!!!!
I got turbo with Greddy Evo 3.5" exhaust. loud (i know, it's the quietest already) but still loud compare to stock or other cars like BMW. now, my car is crazily QUIET... especially I put in the R-19 insulation as well.. lol.

Anyway, can someone (EPL_eclipse) let me know where is the transmission hump? Thanks is that outside the car?

Gil

^^^LOL.

gilee_8: the transmission hump is, well, the hump underneath your shifter (and center console). it doesnt actually house the transmission..but its a huge source of noise. and BTW, you must be a huge miser if you managed to spread 200 sq. ft. over all the areas you listed. i have NO idea how you did that, lol.

Yup.... well, I still have about 40-50sqft left out of that 200ft. and I am planning to use them on the doors.

About 60lbs more in my car. coz 100sqft is about 28lb.

well, i can say is, it worth EVERY INCH OF IT. I spent over 1 week (8 hrs a day) on it. and now... it really are quiet. no wind noise... still have road noise, no exhaust noise, no rear wheel noise.

So I will do the front asap.
Thanks guys.

what you mean?
you actually PUT the Dynamat ON YOUR EXHAUST? like on the pipes outside the car?

I did thought about that, but I am worrying that it will get melted.
Let me know.
THanks
