I installed a pioneer head unti myself and I am now having fun electrical problems, but I used a wiring harness from best buy.... My dash lights do not come on anymore when my headlights are turned on... Any ideas? Did I blow a fuse, and if so where is this fuse at?
if you blew a fuse, its down in the driver side kick panel. look in the owners manual which one it is exactly. make sure your interior light knob is turned all the way up and you didnt exactly turn it down to where they are super dimm and dont turn on. turn the switch all the way to the right and if that doesnt work, check your fuses.
theres an orange dimmer wire that connects to headunit to automatically dim the lights on the HU when the headlights are turned on. i usually just dont connect this at all, but if you connected it to the wrong thing it may have blown the fuse. pull the HU, disconnect that wire, replace the fuse, and then see if it all works.
Uhhh you do know that there is a whole other fuse box in teh engine compartment right? Dont go giving out mis-information unless you want to confuse someone even more. Turning the knob will do nothing if the fuse is blown. The cabin lights are tied to the fuse in the engine compartment.
If you look at this diagram from teh engine compartment fusebox on teh far right are 2 fuses (actually 4 but tied together in pairs) I have blown both when working on my interior lighting and stereo installs so check those out. If you ahve a wire that is grounding out as soon as you replace the fuse and give the wire a +12V signal it will blow again so really go over your wiring to make sure it is all ok.
