i'm in the midst of trying to install an alarm, i have everything set up and working except i can't get the door trigger to work. i know its the red/green (i think, dont have the diagram in front of me) and i've tried splicing into the wire in the drivers kick panel, the drivers door trigger, and the hatch light, anyone have any idea whats going on??

Ok I forgot the exact colors, but if you look behind the trim inside the car where the door sensor wires run into the car (one of the wires is for the door chime, one is for the opened door light), you will see two of them. They are both (-) trigger wires if you didn't already know. You need to take out the sensor by unscrewing the phillips screw in the door jam, then remove the boot. You need to clean the pin because it's probably rusted. Spray some PB Blaster (best rust solvent) onto it and then put some dielectric grease on it (battery terminal grease) so it won't rust again.
It should work now.

the door sensor itself works, its just that my alarm wont recognize it. when i oppen the door the lights come on and if the key's in the ignition it'll chime and all that stuff. my damn alarm wont read it though, maybe i'll try the other... or maybe i'll just re-do the whole damn alarm. all i have is a big mess of wires. all the wires go to the right places (with the exception of the door sensor, maybe??) and they're connected professionally (looking, im no professional) ah its such a cluster fuck. im pretty drunken up right now too, and when i pulled in my driveway and got out of the car, the alarm went apeshit and started chirping erradically (sp.) and like having seizures. ah i shoulda payed the extra 250 and got it installed!

I just replied to your other post, but be sure you have the correct wire, and also be sure you are connecting the negative input wire for your alarm door trigger. Some alarms have both a negative input,and also a postitive input. Use the negative one. There several wires the same color for the doortrigger too, so be sure you have the correct one.

well, from what i can tell, youve done everything correctly and the alarm is still fucking up on spontanious occasions. i would check the voltage the alarm is recieving w/ a multimeter first (alarms go nuts on low voltage) and then make sure the alarm brain itself is in working condition.

so today just for the hell of it, i armed my alarm while i was inside the car, waited a few minutes, then reached over to the passenger door and unlocked/opened it and oh my god the alarm didnt go off. if i unlock and open the driver door it'll go off, why would this be??

Does your domelight come on when the pass door only is opened up? If not, then your pin switch on the pass side could be bad

there are several wires that are the same color under the dash. they are ALL door/hatch trigger RELATED however they are not all the ones you want. mine had this transistor type thingy connecting 3 red/green wires in a little holder under there. only one wire will give you what you want. the reason being that there's several diodes or somethin inline with certain wires. did you ever notice that your hatch makes the door ajar light go on but does NOT turn on the domelight? that's part've the reason. only certain wires actually 'see' ground when a pin is triggered. if you peruse the electrical schematics of our car you'll understand. PITA to read though.
my alarm has domelight supervision. however i did not want the domelight simply being activated by making it think the doors were open (the door ajar light comes on in your dash which is dumb). so i had to mess around a lot with the wires. you need to use your mutltimeter and experiment. find out which wires see ground in which case. right now you've got a wire that only sees ground from the drivers door. you want it too 'see' ground from all 3 pins. you need to go farther upstream and encompass all 3.
i know this sounds confusing but well.. it is. took me a long time to figure it out and i can't remember which wire was which off hand. not taht it would help b/c they're all the same color. so yes you have the right color wire, no you are not tapping in the right place.
if the door ajar light comes on when each pin is activated your pins and wires are fine. you just aren't tapping in at the right point.
