#8097, "Cd/receiver install question"

Currently I have an Alpine cd/receiver. It came with the car. I've never liekd it and finally got a sony CA810x. Nothing fancy. Anyway, It's been years and years since I've installed a stereo, last one was in my 69 beetle. I was looking at the back of the unit and see a port where a white connector goes. This reminds me of the ATX power supply connector that goes on the motherbaord of a computer. So, before I go ripping shit out, I was just wondering if all cars have the white connector from the car speakers that plugs into the receiver unit??

What I remember was a few wires, red for power, black was ground, orange was battery, and there were some for speakers...and using black tape for connecting two wires...ahhh good times...

those little white conectors are unique to each brand of reciever and they come with the deck.
i hope you have one for the sony, if not, try a large audio store thay might have one.
next
best buy and other places sell wiring harnesses that will plug into the factory harness (if this wasent removed in the previous install)
it should be very plug and play
if your splicing too many things you are missing somthing

good luck

Ok, cool to know.

About the splicing, I meant that as referrence as to when the last time I installed stereo it was about '91 or '92...
