Today at work I saw this guy with his older Mustang 5.0 the older box lookin versions like early 90's. This thing is a beast as it is peformance wise, and I noticed his system was bumping while he was getting gas. So I was like how many subs you running and what kind, he was like hold on a second I'll show you and he pops his trunk and hes running 6 10" JL Audio Subs... The shit was crazy and looked hot as hell too. I bet that really pulls down his performance tho with all that weight. I love working at my gas station (Wawa.. for those of you on the middle east coast) I get to see alot of really cool cars here and there, but customers are a pain in the fucking ass on a business level.

Yes, In New Jersey and Oregon you are not allowed to pump your own gas. It is all full service. It does not cost extra money for it, it is just mandatory.

Im from Jersey and go to school in NY. Ny gas is like 1.70 a gallon and you have to pump it yourself, Gas here is 1.49 a gallon and its full service. Gotta love NJ. I always heard that insurance for gas stations is much lower if customers arent allowed to pump their own gas.

I will probably bump into him sometime this week, he is reguler there and I'm always working so I'll see him. When I talked to him he said he only had 4 going until he got a better amp to power the rest. That thing hit like a mother tho, you could hear him come a mile down the road, and my balls were slapping my leg the second he entered the parkin lot 300 feet away. lol

How the hell do you fit 9 10's in the back of a Fox body? Did he have a rear seat? And yes it is great not having to pump your own gas. And it is still around a quarter cheaper than in PA too where you have to pump you own.

by taking up a lot of room, lol. i had 6 12"s in the eclipse at one point, the enclosure was a little less that 16 cubic feet and it took up the entire backseat and 50% of the boot.

BTW, asking what somebody hits is like asking what they run in the 1/4 mile. its almost ALWAYS going to be inaccurate, lol. if he says anything above 150db hes lying (or REALLY knows his shit). hes probably loosing a lot of power by having the extra subs (not recieving power) being unhooked, making them passive radiators and cancellation-makers (assuming a shared-airspace configuration). if you see him again, ask him if the subs share the same airspace or if they are in individual chambers

Well I saw him again tonight, and I asked what he was running as his amp and he said it was a 300/2 JL Audio Amp and they are putting out about 75 watts to each sub (4 of them rite now)... I dont want to keep bugging this guy about his car tho because I feel like a retard askin him all the time about it... The car is really pimp and he must be one too because he has a diff chick with him every night and they are all fuckin gorgeous...

LOL, ya, i REALLY miss the eclipse sometimes (and by sometimes i mean all the time). the 4-door neon w/ a tapedeck isnt the best car to take a girl out in, lol.

Ummm... 75 watts to each sub is not much at all. I bet the sq of the car is pretty bad. My friend had two pioneer subs in a bandpass box, with 500watts and you could hear it from 3 blocks away...Its not what you hear outside the car thats important, its what you hear when yoru inside.

Its probably just like one of those demo cars for audio companies, extravagant installs that arent that functional. Props for the work involved, its just done for the "wow factor."

What kinda JL sub makes good use of 75 watts? Probably w0's which is their low end sub. (only saying that cause they require something like 100watts as the minimum power goin to them). Even if hes using JL's lowest end subs, they are seriously underpowered which can be more dangerous to a sub than overpowering. That guy needs some serious amp upgrades.
