I fiberglassed my subs into my trunk's spare wheel bay.

I can tell you how, or you can have it done at any nice car audio shop (like tweeter).

off topic, when you removed your rear seats, how did you get that stupid part that covers the trunk area when the hatch is closed? back on topic, how much did it cost to have your subs mounted like that?

The trunk cover just pops out, look at the hinges and you will see what I mean.

I fiberglassed them myself (I'm going to bring the fiber glass to the edges and have it curve up when I get some time, I had to just cover it with carpet because I didn't have time to do that before I moved.)

You can get done how mine currently is for about $200 or so.

does removing that hatch cover and the rear seats affect convenience in daily driveability at all? im a college kid so i need to still be able to bring stuff home once in a while but for the most part i just use the rear seats to throw stuff in. also, i was wanting to get diamond plated floor and trunk mats; how hard would it be to install the subs in a diamond plated floormat instead of carpet? lastly, what is that thing to the left of your subs? sorry, im a n00b when it comes to system emoji

Keep in mind that I'm a girl..... emoji
The setup is for sale, but way to heavy to ship weighing in at 150 to 200 pounds. It's all made out of MDF, not light at all.
What would you like to know about it?
Here's a further back picture:

I'm a college student to (my house is 3 1/2 hrs away). I have my amped mounted on the fold down part of the seat so that when I drive back I just flip it up, throw all my shit on the backseat, and I still have the passenger seat and floor to put stuff. It's no suv, but I don't have a problem with transporting my stuff.

You would just have to measure and cut the diamond plate the shape of the trunk w/ the holes for the subs. That shiny thing is a 1 farad digital power capacitor, it stores energy imbetween larger power draws (imbetween bass notes) so that when your bass his it has plenty of power, and your lights don't dim, etc...

It basically stiffen's the electrical system (hince, why it's sometimes called a stiffening cap).

I have been considering doing some fiberglassing in my car. My back seat is pretty useless, as far as passengers, so I am considering removing them and making a single seat in the rear out of fiberglass and having it molded into the whole rear section. Let me know what you think. I was considering a center mounted seat with a leg on each side of the council.

CrazyEclipse Here are my questions about your system.

- How much did you need for supplies
- Was it hard to fabricate
- Is the design pretty basic (Structurally)
- Did you follow a template for the top part where your subs and amps are mounted
- Do you still have access to your spare (If not I really don't need it.. modern age.. we all have cell phones)

Major props on your system all together tho.. and the fact that you are a girl and so knowledgable about this I give you even more props because there aren't many girls around my way that know what you know.. emoji

Also.. Can you get me some more pictures So I can get some more creative ideas... I am currently grounded from my car (I am 17 and got bad grades in English.. So parents are not allowing me to drive the car on their insurance plan..) anyway, so I will have plenty of time to tare apart my car to figure some stuff out.

These pics were taken with my old shitty camera so bear with me..

Its going to look better when I get all the back trunk peices sanded smooth and painted black.....the paint around the sub is color matched....shines perfect in the sun.

What is MDF and how much does that cost to buy and where do I get it? Anything I need to know when designing my sub enclosure?

MDF = medium density fiberboard

You can get it at any home hardware store (home depot, lowes, etc...). It's the perfered wood for speaker boxes.

It's used in my fiber glass encloser as support.

Also, my advice for you for now. Since your still in school, focus on just that. Once you graduate, you an go crazy with your life, but you'll need the education to suceed in life - granted I graduated 3 years ago and I still dont know what direction I want to go in.
As for the car, I am lucky to have stumbled on an excellant paying job that offers enough for me to live on (still live with mum and dad - CHEAPEST WAY TO GO) but it really sucks having to work to basiclly live your life.
Now that I'm done rambling, think about it. Dont go insane just yet if you dont have the money to do it, or the time. School should and always come first. Hell, if I could go back to school I would, college life isnt for me though. So much better than working for a living. emoji

Before I answer these, I personally did not do the work, I only said what I wanted, and my installer did the rest.
Answers:
- How much did you need for supplies
For all of the materials minus the audio components, it was approximatly $700 That includes all the wires (0 gauge power/ground wires, speaker), RCA's (monster), MDF, liquid nails, vinal, ditrubution blocks, battery terminals, ect.
- Was it hard to fabricate
I dont think it was too hard for him to do, but all I wanted was a few things and he could think something crazy up.... wanted the top trim panel to go below the access panels to the taillights, subs closer than the amps, and just overall clean finish. His idea of the trim panel 1 piece just happened by accident, it was supposed to be 3 pieces, 1 looks so much better.
- Is the design pretty basic (Structurally)
The design of the box is pretty basic, the CD changer is screwed into the side of the box for the subs, cap is also screwed into the box and the amps and built on top of an extesnion of the box, so the whole setup is one piece.
- Did you follow a template for the top part where your subs and amps are mounted
The trim piece fits right over the changer, cap, subs, and amps
- Do you still have access to your spare (If not I really don't need it.. modern age.. we all have cell phones)
Definatly no access to the spare tire compartment unless one would pull out the 200 pound setup and disconnect the wires
Major props on your system all together tho.. and the fact that you are a girl and so knowledgable about this I give you even more props because there aren't many girls around my way that know what you know
Thanks emoji Eventually I would like to go to school to do this kind of work. Taking classes isnt too expensive, its just the location. I do know a lot about audio in general, but nothing too intense.

It is for sale...
