i have a JVC KD-S570 http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL026430&archive=true

and sometimes the light on the power button (which is red when you have a CD in there) will start blinking and it will keep turning off and on my amp through the remote wire. it does this for no apparent reason, and usually at night. i'll take the face off the HU so that it doesn't turn on in the middle of the night by itself like it did one time (i heard it inside my house) but when i went back this morning to check it out i popped on the face and it's fine again. wtf is up with that?

sounds like you have something wired wrong. The radio should not be able to turn itself on if the car is off. You may have some wiring issues with the constant and the switched power that goes to the radio. I'd start buy double checking your power wires to the radio. One should have constant power and the other should be switched. IE power is only supplied when the car is on.

the person who installed the previous radio before i owned the car was a retard, so my radio is just wired constantly, so i can and always have been able to turn on the radio when the car is off emoji sucks to buy a used car sometimes, but overall i've been happy
