#7304, "Stock alarm goes off randomly WTF?"

Well I dont know much about wiring but my alarm has randomly been going off in the middle of the night and the only way to turn it off is if I stick my key in the trunk key hole and turn. I even took out then anti-theft fuse on the driverside panel near the clutch and the alarm still goes off. What do I need to do to turn the alarm off or disconnect it. I live in a good neighborhood and am not worried at all about stuff getting stolen from my car and if anything does get stolen I got aftermarket insurance covering almost everything. TIA

Mine does the SAME thing. I fucking hate it...if anyone has a fix please post.

Someone mentioned disconnecting the "alarm box" behind the driver side backseat side panel...however if you unhook the plug from the 'box' your power locks don't work properly and the alarm still activates when the doors are locked, when you remove the plug from the small plug next to the 'box' the powerlocks only work for the driver side, and the alarm still activates when the passenger door is locked....this is a living hell. So the answer to the problem doesn't lie there.

Someone please post a fix, I will paypal you a few dollars...

Your door/hood/trunk body panels are probably misaligned. Push/pull/wiggle them all with the alarm set and see which one is causing the alarm to go off. Fix it. The switches might be dirty or they might need to be adjusted tighter.

or

On the turbo DSM's anyways, the factory alarm can be "disabled" by:

- Sitting in driver seat, turn off engine
- Open the driver door
- Hold down the little rubber stopper switch so your interior lights turn off
- Lock the door with your other hand

Powereclipse had the same problem. I don't think he ever "fixed" it, he just disconnected the horn.
