I just responded to the email, but forgot to mention the RSIII goes for 500 installed at most decent shops. Some shops that do more detailed installs charge 600 installed. It basically has a picture of your car and will tell you if the shock sensor, door, etc, goes off. The range is supposedly around a 1/4 mile. I was debating on this, and decided to go with the Intelliguard because it is a better alarm overall (just doesn't have the 2 way paging feature). The 2 way feature is only useful if you are always near your car imo.

Oh yeah, if you want the matrix rs3, wait for the rs3.5. It's coming out real soon, and has a built-in turbo timer (like the intelliguard 7000 and 8000) and a few other features, including a smaller remote.

Hmm that's weird. The Viper 790xv and Clifford Matrix RS3 both come with the remote start hardwire. It's up to you whether you want to wire it up. Trust me...they both are the same functionality wise. So your friend was wrong. Also, retail install price is 500 installed with the remote start, and I found plenty of socal shops doing it for that much. A couple I'd recommend are Audio Industry (Ben Stereo) in City of Industry and Stereo City in Culver City. Might wanna shop around and find the best place possible.
EDIT: Actually, if you don't hook up the remote start, the unit is easier to wire up (much like most alarms) so any decent place should be able to do it. It's just how clean the install is. For example, whether they can hide the brain somewhere else other than under the dash on the driver's side.

got it done yesterday. its a bad ass alarm. my friend told me the rs3 comes standard with it, and with the viper systems you have the choice one system comes with the remote start built in just like the rs3, and another system which allows you to get it separate. he could not get the separate one so i just got the system with the remote start. its a kick ass setup/alarm alot better then my old one overall. now i just got to find info on this new tracking system which i want. cool thanks Michael 99gs HRC Stage IV 8-Injector Setup 2GNT Member #32
