ok, when I first put my sound system together all was great, but now whenever I play a burned cd the car will have static at what seems random times. Some of the songs will always play perfectly normal while others will play perfect one minute and have static the next. Right now I have a RF mp3 player, I put some tweeters up front in the stock location (forget the brand), Audiobahn 6.5's in the doors, blown RF 6x9's in the rear and a bazooka 10" powered sub in the trunk. I dont have a clue what the problem is, with regular purchased CD's everything plays perfectly. Anybody have a clue??

Hmmph, you say its an mp3 headunit. The cd's that are burned are they normal style music cd's or are they just burned with a bunch of mp3's on them? Could be the mp3 decoder in your headunit is starting to fault if the cd's are just full of mp3's.

I've learned that I can't burn a cd with mp3's and select the "burn audio cd" option....you have to use "burn data cd" and copy the mp3's over as files.

ah, thats a good point. Ive just been putting them on a disc as audio rather than as data. Ill try making a data CD tonight and see how that goes.
