I want to buy a 6.5" or 7" indash monitor that also plays CDs...i dont need a DVD player cause those are like $1799...but what is the price of a indash motorized monitor or just an indash monitor that can also play CDs? If I need to I can just get an indash monitor and put a CD player under the seat if I have to. What are some of the brands and models that are good? TIA!

Why would you need to put the cd player under the seat? Since we have a double din opening you could put the head unit on the bottom and the lcd on top. Regular motorized lcd's are alot cheaper than ones with an integrated headunit.

Uhm...you can get Pyle ones off ebay for like $250. I know Pyle is crap but if you can use the son of a bitch it's better than paying the $2000 Alpine wants. Hell you can buy 8 of them before you buy 1 alpine.

If you can find one made by Faranheight they are better than the ones made by Pyle and they don't cost much more.

If you put it in the top slot there shouldn't be a problem. Even if it does hit the shifter in neutral there is no way it would hit in 4th.

I have the Pioneer AVH-7500 DVD 7"...it plays everything but you needn't worry about it hitting he shifter in the top din. Although with how the HVAC trim is shaped you need to install it poking out a little bit (at least i did) other wise when it opens it will hit up against it.

BTW I am refering to under the controls for air cond. etc there is a lip..thats what mine was bumping against.

"We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war; our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very , very pissed off"

MA Audio has motorized screens only for around 700 online. Those look very nice quality in person (can view lcd from various angles). Some of the cheap ones look horrible at an angle. Alpine seems to make very good but expensive screens. I would get the MA Audio screen, a car dvd/cd player that goes under your seat (approximately 150), and you can watch dvds or play cds off of it. Not sure how you would hook it up if you had a head unit too though.

I had my alpine with the stock length shifter and a shortened shifter and it was fine both ways. You wont need to trim the hvac piece because most screens have the option for the screen to slide out more before tilting up. I've installed a pioneer and my alpine in an eclipse and after you set it to slide out more before flipping up, there is no clearance issues.

Heres a pic of my setup

Haha. Thats some poly fill for my box i was about to put in.

And Even with a single din. The top piece has a built in cd player and the botome piece is just the dvd player. You can get the cd player ones alot cheaper nowadays.
