Newbie here… Greetings everyone.

After being away from the DSM family for 8 years, I am back in the fold with a ’95 Eclipse GS and I need a CD player! My question is this. I have an Infinity cassette/radio with EQ, is it a dual DIN or not?

I have done a number of searches here and across the Internet and I get conflicting info. I see many refer to it as a dual DIN, but Crutchfield says it is not a true dual DIN without it being a custom install.

I would like to fill the entire space if possible and not have a spacer with a single DIN.

I have also found a complete Infinity system with CD/cassette and changer from a ’98. I don’t know if it will fit right in.

I'm almost sure a stock radio from a 98 will fit into a 95.

In my opinion, don't waste your time with a factory headunit. Even if it has the Infinity system, it's better to put in an aftermarket radio, such as an Alpine or Panasonic, and reap the benefits of the increased power in the headunit.

For even better sound, add a four channel amplifier to the new headunit and you will have significantly cleaner sound than with the stock system.
