Well i just hooked up my 10" kicker solobaric sub and rockford fosgate 360.2W sub and a 1 farad digital capacitator..well today on the way home from class.. i noticed when i had the bass almost all the way on full blast and my headlights on and my heater on that my lights were dimming a little bit..and jumping from 13-14 volts..shouldnt the capacitator stop that? I'm pretty sure it's hooked up right..it reads the battery voltage on the capacitator..my voltmeter reads my volts too..but um..i have a brand new optima red top battery not even 2 months old and that 1 farad digital capacitator..why are my lights dimming?

well the person with the system before me used the exact same wires..infact he left them hooked up for me..everything looks fine.. but some reason last night the lights were flickering a little..this morning i turned up my bass all the way and had my headlights on my heater on my turn signals on and my battery stayed at 14.4 v constant..cause usually nothing dims but last night it just dims..weird

Looking at your webpage, you've done some upgrades to your vehicle. In particular, I noticed the modifications that you've done to the electrical system. ie... guages.
These mods, even though they appear insignificant, they produce a bigger draw on the alternator. This, combined with the new amplifier, will make the lights dim. The capacitor helps with the dimming problem, but the size of the wire is crucial.
Taking an educated guess, I would suspect that the system is wired with 8 awg wire. If you are having an issue with dimming lights, the power and ground wires should be upgraded to 4 awg.
