i was checking online for alarms and whatever, and looking on the site for reccod alarms, i was wondering what yall thought of the hornet 554t... seems pretty inexpensive for what it says it will do... but i dunno... after two break ins to my car i need something where it can reach me if i dont hear the alarm going off and that will do keyless entry since i no longer have lock cylinders in my car thanks to the dumb arses that broke into it...

any input is appreciated thanks!

I personally would recommend a Viper alarm. The alarm you have found online is made by Directed Electronics, which also makes the Viper. Personally, I have always had good luck with the Viper Products.

Viper now makes a new alarm, the Viper690XV, which has a 2-way interface remote. After your 2 break-ins, I would recommend this alarm, since the 2-way transmitter will alert you in the event someone has entered your vehicle. If you are looking for remote start as well, the Viper790XV gives you the 2-way interface, plus the remote start.

These products are available at your local Circuit City. The 790 is in stock and the 690 should be available very soon.

Good luck to ya!

I just got the crime guard 745i3....it's got everything. I got it for the ability to have the fm pager hooked up to it. The pager has a little screen on it that shows you which area of your car got hit. I haven't had the time to install the system yet....but I can't wait to get it done!

Practically every alarm has the ability to have a pager hooked up to it. In order to use the pager, you just need an open channel, which most units come with at least 3, if not 4.

I would still recommend a name brand. Do you love your baby enough to protect it properly!

well we ended up going with the hornet... now i just need power locks installed, since i have no cylinders in my handles. was gonna just get em shaved but i dont feel like dropping almost 300 plus the solenoids and all that fun stuff... i DID get my stereo back though... well, the insurance company gave it back to me. i used to cuss statefarm up and down, but after they were so very nice to me with this last problem i had (haven't seen the affect on my premium yet...) i love em! quick, easy, and willing to give me some money... emoji anyways, thanks for the advise everyone... i appreciate it!

yeah i got if off of ebay... the locks too. not too bad of a price i dont think, less than 200 for both. i think i'm going to use the rest of the money from the insurance company on some rims or a paint job.. i'm rollin on 14s right now, so i think the rims will come first emoji
