Hey

Anyone know how to wire the stock 2 plug antenna harness into an aftermarket head unit? My reception is REALLY crappy. Also which is for the glass antenna...the small or large plug?

I can help you figure out what plug is for the main antenna. REmove the antenna mast so you can get to the post. Now hook up a Volt meter or Buzzer to one of the two plugs. Out side ground and center hot. Now goto the antenna mount and using a 9 volt battery or the like hook the negative side to the cars body and touch the positive side to the post. If you hear the buzzer or see the volt meter registers then you have that plug. IF NOT try the other plug.

The larger plug is for the Main external antenna.
Also I think the stock radio uses a Diversity system, hence the 2 antennas. It takes the stronger signal and uses that one. If you dont have a diversity style receiver/head unit I dont think you could use both. But I guess you could just try and splice them together if you wanted to fool around with it.

I thought about spliceing them togethor I wonder if that would give you a clearer signal or not??? Anyone try this before???
