hey all, well i got a system in my car etc etc. i have a old cd headunit its like kpc 4011s or something i would say back in 99. anyways i plan to get a kenwood 6 or 10disk cd changer to add on.. but can i do this? and do i need to have a extra rca output or input on the headunit? or what? im not too cool with audio wiring.. does the changer just plug in with a adapter to my cd headunit? any info would be nice if you need more info tell me what you need from me... thanks Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2 @12psi Stage 3 process begins gathering parts for rebuild 2GNT Member #32

opps, Hit edit when I meant to hit reply. Does your headunit have cd changer controls? If it does chances are it has its own plug on the backside for the sole purpose of connecting a cd changer. You'll get the wire to connect the two together in the packaging with the changer.

well i know when i wired up my pioneer 6-disc you have to connect a constant, switched, and ground. for hooking mine up to the head unit there is a box that you plug your stock antenna into. the plug connects pretty much after it gets inside the car...remove the panel in the drivers trunk to find it. you unplug that, plug the male end into the box (thats how mine was anyways) and then there is another male plug comin outta the box to re-attatch to your wire goin to the head unit so you can still use your antenna. mine plays on a certain radio frequency and has its own lil control thing.
